Seasoned to perfection!!!! I ordered the grill pork chop dinner with collards and yams…Mann…. I wish I had a before picture, but all I have is an after! Food was hot and delicious! I could eat another plate! Service was on point! Will be back again and again!

Stop by because of a TikTok and they did not disappoint. I had the catfish with candy yams and make and cheese, my wife turkey chop. Both plates were A+. Cornbread is really good. Hope yall stay in Portsmouth for a long time.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The owner was very professional & welcoming. This soul food hit the spot, but the potato salad and mac & cheese were the real stars, so flavorful and perfectly made. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

First, customer service was awesome. Being this was my first visit here, she was very helpful in explaining my options and what was really good here. I had a whiting fish dinner with potato salad, collard greens, fries, and cornbread. The whiting was very tasty, and the collards were almost as good as mama’s (nobody beats mama). It was a good-sized plate and really hit the spot. This is a family owned business that has great potential for expansion. I met with the hostess and the chef, and just to have that down-home feeling of family makes it even better. This is truly a hidden gem that everyone needs to try.

Service was good guy at the counter was cool & patient( the owner did bring the food out she seemed pleasant) order came out pretty fast I ordered porkchops ( smothered) yams, & mac n cheese , and the meal comes with a banging square of sweet cornbread , & sweet tea . The pork chops were cooked nice but wasn’t super seasoned ,the gravy was light & have a different taste ( but good) yams were ok , & mac & cheese also basic. The atmosphere is honestly more of the hole in the wall ,but quaint at the same time. I’d probably give it another shot and try different entree and sides it’s definitely worth checking out . IT also seems to be more of a grab and go ,pickup ,or doordash type place but does have nice TVs and seating for a few 2 or 3 person type seating.

Ordered( grilled chicken rice peppers gravy) via uber eats food had a “feet smell” bland cheap ingredients no flavor convinced they had ppl give them great reviews bc this was horrible. Spit out can’t eat. Fish was decent never again. Sorry

I originally ordered from this restaurant DoorDash because I was feeling some soul food. Let me tell you when I took a bite into my food. It was the best thing I had in such a long time and my son who does not eat a thing clear cleared his plate. 10 stars!! I had to call the store and thank the owner personally. And that cabbage!!!! I would order all of it. Every last bit. They are COOKING with their soul!!!!
