Excellent. Prices reasonable and fair. Only nit is I wish I lived next door so I could come more often.
The food was totally spot on:
* The broiled atlantic salmon was so tasty. It came with mashed potatoes and steamed fresh, local veggies—a perfect plate.
* We also tried the chicken tenders, and wow, they were very good. The chicken inside was super tender, and the breading was perfectly seasoned and crispy, not like those dry ones you sometimes get.
* Oh, and don’t skip the soup! The cream of mushroom soup of the day was absolutely delicious.
If you’re looking for a reliably good meal with wonderful service, I’d totally recommend checking this place out!
His opinion has about as much weight as somebody who unironically has political stickers/flags (George Carlin would like to have a word with you misfits) or other nonsensical bs on their car. L M A O. Gordon Ramsay on the other hand….topic for another day.
Guy Fieri also went to Jefferson Diner up in north NJ years ago, and they gradually declined over the years, I guess they were just floating off his show’s influence. It was really sad because we loved going there.
Thankfully, that is not the case here. Vincentown Diner has been around since 1969. They really have a real chef. They actually do make everything fresh. I had a cheeseburger that was flavorful and cooked perfectly! Somewhere around medium and juicy. We also had the beef stroganoff and country chicken, cooked to perfection and off the chain. Color me shocked and surprised. Everything was excellent.
Carlee was our waitress, and she was excellent!
A staple of a good New Jersey diner is a good cheeseburger cooked to perfection. You can find multiple here! Sadly, a lot of diners have an average clientele age of about 147, so no seasoning will be found there, to save themselves from the old crowd complaining. These folks who love tasteless food long left their glory years behind somewhere around the time the Berlin Wall fell. Their prime was around the time the Knicks last won the NBA championship, and they left their golden years somewhere between when the Islanders and Rangers last won a Stanley Cup. You get the picture.
I guess a broken clock, in this case Guy Fieri, is still right twice a day. This is the first time, not sure where Guy Fieri’s other correct time is, because we haven’t found it yet. We came from the Staten Island/Woodbridge area and we will definitely be back.
1/10/26: We came back again. I had the rigatoni ala vodka. To be honest it wasn’t my favorite at first, but red pepper flakes woke it up big time. I think the sauce is a bit too tomato heavy and not enough spice or cream. Not entirely sure, but it’s fine. We also had the chicken parmigiana which was absolutely amazing. Like W O W. Can’t believe you can get fancy Italian restaurant quality chicken parmigiana in a diner. I had a piece of it alongside my rigatoni vodka and it was incredible. We also had a turkey club that was good.
I thought it couldn’t get better than those two starters and then BAM! Out walks the most delicious mac and cheese ever created. You can tell the mushrooms were fresh because they had a nice snap to them. The cheese sauce was so velvety and the chicken was juicy. I will dream of that mac and cheese for all of my days.
My husband got The Slab sandwich and it was another culinary slam dunk. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. The bread had the good kind of crunch (not the kind that destroys the roof of your mouth). The fig chutney added a hint of sweetness to balance the sandwich and there was a smoky taste that hit you towards the end of your chew. I can’t wait to have the stomach space to eat the strawberry cheesecake I took to-go!
The service was top notch. Our food came out so fast, it was like they read our minds when we walked through the door. Our server was friendly and let us take our time even though it took forever for us to decide what to get. Our waters were never empty and excess dishes were cleared before we even noticed. We will absolutely be back and also tell all of our friends they need to visit.
Thank you to everyone at Vincentown Diner tonight, and to whoever put together that knock out menu!
The food was first rate! They have an onion soup they mix with burria and it is incredibly flavorful. I also had the RVv Steak Frites. The brandy sauce was very rich and tasty. I had the beef tallow fries put on the side so they stay crispy and they were really good also. I got a side of the homemade beef gravy to dip the fries and I was in heaven. My husband’s waffle was piled high with fruit and he throughly enjoyed it as well. We ended with the homemade pumpkin pie and chocolate mousse both were excellent! Thank you for a wonderful experience we will be sure to stop back next time we are in the area!
