The turkey was tender and tasty, but not like smoked meat. The ribs were good. Salmon, on the other hand, was didn’t have any resemblance of being smoked. Tasted like an overcooked baked fish. The sides were good and so was the service. Lively atmosphere, but not sure if worth visit when you have Pappy’s!

Typical BBQ atmosphere (see photos) with cafeteria style ordering. The service was quick, friendly and welcoming. And there was some great 80s rock for us boomers (lol). I ordered a 3-meat platter with Ribs, Sausage and Brisket. It came with 2 sides, I chose the baked beans and coleslaw. It doesn’t look like it, but the 3 meat platter is a lot of food.
Generally everything was good. However, it didn’t meet up to the high expectations I had based on recommendations. I found that the meats, although good, lacked much flavor unless you put sauce on them. But there were several to choose from. My favorite item were the Beans. Heavenly. Not too sweet, but had that caramel molasses flavor. Yum.
The meat on the Ribs almost fell off the bone. Again good, but not great. Basic flavor, but needed sauce. The same could be said of the Brisket. You get a mix of fatty and lean. I used the Honey Badger and Texas Hot sauce for these. Sausage (jalapeño cheddar) Good, not great. Strong on the cheese. You get a slight spice aftertaste. The flavor was enhanced with St. Louie Sweet sauce (this may be a bit critical, but has a bit over processed texture). Lastly, the Coleslaw is basic, a tad watery, and ok but not much flavor. All in all I’d still recommend for some good BBQ.

I can’t remember the name of the sandwich I had but it had brisket and jalapeno sausage with a pile of shredded lettuce and topped with bbq sauce. It was delicious!! I was there as soon as they opened and 15 minutes later the place was nearly full. Service was great! Definitely going back!!

Came on a Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 to grab some sandwiches. Ordered two pulled pork sandwich sandwiches was offered six and 8 ounce options.
After sitting down at the table noticed their saucy promotion. When I asked about why we didn’t get that pricing was told that that required ordering a 4 ounce Bogo portion. That was never offered to us or suggested to us when ordering; would’ve actually preferred smaller sandwiches even not buy one get one. Signage also doesn’t include any restrictions on the sandwich sizes. Know before you go.

This was my first ever time being here, the atmosphere was amazing, the food was tender and so good! Got it quickly and the pecan pie was DELICIOUS! So that’s a plus for me because I am very picky about my pecan pies. The baked beans were okay but everything else .

First impressions are what you’d expect from the original restaurant. A bit rustic and a whole lot homey.

Fun decor along with awesome smells and plenty of people.

The crew was cool and patient while offering suggestions based on their favorites.

I had their special Burnt Ends Reuben Burrito and the slaw.

The burnt ends themselves were not top tier but overall the meal was delicious and I will most definitely be back!

Oh, and don’t forget that gooey butter cake pie when you go… bomb!!!!!!!

We enjoyed everything via takeout. The brisket could have been a little fatter but it was tender overall. Mac and cheese was solid and the corn bites were good.

So far this is one of the best BBQ restaurant that I have visited in St Louis which is why I’m reviewing and posting it. Even without any sauce on the smoked pork the meat is bursting with flavors. This is NOT a restaurant where the smoke and flavors can only be tasted after it is covered and smothered in sauce. The meat/pork IS the star, the sauce is a great way to add to an already perfect meat. The bun is small & soft and doesn’t overwhelm, as the portions of meat placed on the sandwich are generous/ large. The meat is moist, juicy, and all moist dissolves on your tongue. The side dishes are also wonderful, the staff is helpful, friendly, greet you with a smile and willing to offer you any assistance you might need. If you live or visit St Louis and haven’t been to SugarFire add it to your To Do List and Enjoy!

I came here for the first time. This place was recommended to me by Patricia of Alamo car rental. I came to this place because it was the closest to the airport.

There are lots of free parking spaces available. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Cafeteria-style dining and self-serve soda fountain.

I tried their brisket and turkey BBQ. They were soft and juicy. I liked it so much that I decided to take 2 lbs of brisket back home with me.

I love their condiments and sides. The cornbread was too dry for me. Staff were all helpful and friendly.
