I felt it was overpriced for what it boasted. There were some good flavors, but each dish our party had screamed for some kind of sauce. It was all so dry. My duck was overcooked, but the server never came to ask how things were until we’d all finished. I ran out of water several times before she brought more. She brought the check, then did not return for it for over 10 minutes. I saw her clearing other tables, scratching her head, then serving another table their food. The bread was good. The sunset was obstructed by haze and clouds, but the view of the lake was beautiful. Overall, I was disappointed.

We just popped by the Sunset bar for a beer & pre sunset view before venturing to our airbnb (no food to review) & were greeted by Lonnie behind the bar. He was welcoming & they offered a few solid Michigan canned craft beers served with tall, frosty cold glasses. The inside bar was cozy, retro/perfect & patio was lovely. The bar/restaurant was closed the next 2 nights of our visit so we didn’t get to return this trip but we would have.

Amazing dinner, great service, and a view of the lake and sunset. The food here was so good. We had a party of 8, and everyone got something different. Everyone loved the food. Some people reviewed that they thought the atmosphere needed a refresh. Get over yourself, you’re on Beaver Island. It was fantastic in every way

LOVED the view sitting outside and our waitress was sweet! But the food was pretty terrible for the price, and the expensive chocolate martini only filled half of the glass :(. And the decor inside is even worse. And the bathroom? The weirdest – wish I would’ve take a picture – it was like one-person bathroom with an additional lock-off toilet.

We visited on a whim and ended up having a wonderful and memorable sunset dinner. The food was exceptional, the staff friendly, and the view absolutely framable. Both the seafood and the bison were amazing. They were family friendly, and while this place is suitable for a more elegant meal, island wear is just fine. Beaver Island is a one of a kind experience and this was a nice finale for our voyage.

Salmon overcooked after asked for medium. Sent back and they did better. Friend had filet and pleased. 2 others enjoyed a chicken dish. Food is just ok. Sunset is great.

Beautiful setting. Our meal was delicious. A very nice place to go if you have a special occasion or celebration but even just because you want a good meal besides a burger or sandwich. We were dressed casually and didn’t feel under-dressed. Service was outstanding , and our waitress made sure everything was perfect!

First time visiting the Sunset Restaurant at Beaver Island Lodge. The food was fantastic. We started with the oysters and stuffed shrimp small plates. Both were delicious. For my entrée, I went with the white fish, which I really enjoyed. We were seated on the patio, which offered a stunning view. The waitstaff was friendly and very attentive. Overall dining experience was 5 stars. Definitely planning on dining there during my next visit to Beaver Island.

Love this spot- great view, friendly servers, great food. We enjoyed dinner 3 nights in a row, and still had more items that we would have liked to try. We shared entrees, so we could enjoy the variety of tasty salads and starters. Over 3 nights, we enjoyed both the Lodge and Roasted beets salads; the mushroom bisque, the roasted carrots and the fried feta starters; and the scallops, rack of lamb, and sake poached lobster pasta dishes. And since it was May (Michigans asparagus season), we had a side of grilled asparagus each night! Liam and Johann were great servers, and owner Eric was on hand each evening to welcome us. Sunset restaurant at Beaver Island Lodge is one of the reasons we enjoy coming to Beaver Island.

The food has always been exceptional for us in 2023, 2022 and 2015 and 2019. This year we ate there three times in 2023 and we had a lovely scallop dish on risotto, poached lobster over pasta and once we had a delicious rack of lamb. The salads and asparagus were scrumptious. And the view…amazing.
