In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. First time eating at Black Bear Diner, I have driven by this place a hundred times. The wife wanted to eat fish and they serve all you can eat fish (pollack ) the fish was excellent, hot and tasty, hush puppies were a bit dry, and fries were not crispy, but tasted ok The place sports a bear motif with numerous paintings a lot of trees,real trees throughout. Service was excellent on this night,it was Friday 13th , place serves ample portions of fish ,absolutely a plus also a lot of deserts. ENJOYED the meal ,I could see myself going there again

Stopped by after a veterans day event, and was surprised that they offer free meal to veterans. Kodie did an amazing job, even with their computers down, way more food than I could eat, served quickly, hot, and with a smile. Thank you for your service to all employees at the Midwest City location

Went to hang out and catch up with my friends for an early breakfast at 730 am. It was quiet and pleanty of seating and parking available. Our server and the staff were very attentive and helpful with our questions. The food is a a big plate of food but everything tasted great and we were able to mostly finish everything.

The server was incredible! She was on top of our large party’s requests. Came back with everything we needed. Everything was correct on our plates. She did not miss a step! Food was okay. But it’s a diner what do you expect? Not too much not too little. The portions are crazy big do be prepared.

First time trying this place while in oklahoma City, and it was a great experience. Gm very glad i decided to try it out. The server was friendly and efficient. The food looked and tasted absolutely great, and i still had enough food to bring boxes home. I would definitely suggest this place very large selection of foods, small gift shop and even a jut box cozy and friendly place to grab great food!

I want to give it a higher rating, but I think this is fair for our experience.
I really liked my omelette but my hash browns were cold and stale. The pancakes were hard as well, like they had sat under the warmer for some time. The biscuits were good though!
The service was slow which was ok for us but you could tell a few other customers were a little frustrated and said as much. The servers were nice though and handled themselves well.
The atmosphere was welcoming and spacious but the bathrooms were dirty.
I do love the story of the restaurant and how it was start by two guys who just wanted to make food for their families and friends.
All in all not a bad experience but I had higher expectations.

Had a great breakfast and brunch today here. Service was very friendly with a great attitude. The food came out amazing with no complaints. Definitely will come back again and try more meals from the huge menu they have. In you are in the area come out and have a meal at black bear diner.

Very nice menu with a lot of variety. Most of the menu is always available. Only having one server made service slow, but they were very polite and friendly. We will be back. Biscuits are huge!!!!

I went at about 9 am on a Sunday morning. It was very slow customer wise but the service was seriously lacking. I wasnt offered a single refill on coffee or anything and had to wait around to get my check and then wait even longer to actually pay it. The food was edible but ive had much better for much cheaper. Id probably go back if someone else was paying but definitely at the bottom of my list of options for breakfast
