We had an amazing experience at Uncle Bud’s Place and my taste buds are still dancing from the incredible flavor of the barbecue! We ordered the smoked sausage, chuck roast, and Jamaican chicken, and every bite was packed with rich, smoky goodness. The cornbread was absolutely amazing, the fried okra was perfectly crispy, and the mac and cheese was really good too. Everything was absolutely delightful from start to finish. On top of that, the service was great. Five stars all the way. Highly recommend!

I wanted to have a real BBQ-diner, and omg… i got one! Took the Buds Big BBQ Platter with 3 meats. Best choice i could have made! 3 different meat choices, and 2 side dishes. I’m a fairly good eater, but even i had to throw in the towel. Meat was delicious, side dishes too. But i had to ask for a box to take it home with me.
Best part is: tomorrow morning i’ve got myself a fine breakfast

The restaurant itself isnt a super chique one, but these kind of places: i love it. Good service, very good food… beats the big franchises hands down!

Every time I go I’m reminded of how awesome the food is, and why it’s been so long since I’ve returned. The food is phenomenal and rich, no bad choices. You get nearly 2 meals per entree with the large portions and quantity and is def one of the last remaining establishments that haven’t cut corners or increased prices. To top it all off, they’re one of the only places in Prescott that has banned the overuse of plastic and styrofoam. All to-go is recyclable and paper bagged.

It’s Thanksgiving Eve 2025, and I visited Uncle Bud’s this afternoon for the first time. OMG. WONDERFUL in every way. I ordered the spicy cajun sausage, the fried catfish special, and sides of coleslaw and red beans and rice, to GO. We all LOVED everything. The catfish was perfectly seasoned, crispy, thick, and delicious. The slaw was so fresh, it felt as if the vegetables had just come straight from the garden. A little kick to the slaw, some dill, and lots of black pepper. The red beans and rice are perfectly seasoned, and contain some delicious slices of sausage and a savory sauce. Fantastic. The spicy cajun sausage was perfect, with an aromatic smoky flavor, tender, and exactly on point. Portions are generous, and everything is of tremendously high quality and prices are extremely reasonable.

GO to Uncle Bud’s if you like delicious barbecue and wonderful sides. The menu is extensive, with plates, sandwiches, salads, everything you can want. Uncle Bud’s is a much-needed addition to the Prescott restaurant in. EAT IN, and TAKE-OUT, clean and cute and well-appointed, Staff is warm, courteous, and eager to please.

A lot to unpack here, first let’s talk about the food. I ordered a two meat, barbecue platter, with chicken and ribs, with a side salad and potato salad as my sides. Oh yeah, they have a three dollar up charge if you order ribs.

Food came out very fast, and the presentation was great. The first thing I tried was the potato salad, it was very good and tasted like homemade with fresh ingredients. Side salad was lackluster at best, both the chicken and ribs came out, smothered in barbecue sauce, if I would’ve known, I would’ve had him hold the barbecue sauce. Chicken was decent, will definitely order it again. But I have to say for a three dollar up charge. The ribs were absolutely horrible, overcooked, and dry like they have either been in the smoker for too long or under a heat lamp for too long. The free cornbread you get on the side is quite good as well.

Service was fantastic, she was nice, patient, and explained any questions that I had about the menu.

Atmosphere is kind of strange, but kind of cool with his historic photos and memorabilia on the walls, Half cool and nostalgic and half very tacky. But at the end of the day, this is a barbecue place so I will accept it.

All in all, this was my first experience, I will definitely be back to try again. I would just expect better for $24.00.

I am in love with this place. Small but quant. Cute historic decorations. Small seating area but management are helpful in taking care of you. Their brisket is melt in your mouth amazingly delicious. I can’t explain just how amazing their food is. If I live in Prescott I would be in trouble. I’m willing to drive two hours there weekly to eat now. The bbq sauce is also very yummy. I had the three meat meal. With two sides. Let me express how huge their portions are. Sides and meat. You easily can feed three people on this meal for one. Their potato salad is a favorite and has been perfected by the owners for 50 plus years. The sausage is amazing. I usually don’t do bone is chicken but the Cajun bone in chicken is something out of this world. Honestly. Words cannot explain it. If I’m the area. Visit this place. Staff and owners are so welcoming and amazing. Phoenix needs a place like this. Thank you for being great to customers. Having good portions. Greta food. And at really good prices.

Not only the best Cajun food this side of the Mississippi but great, friendly people. I had the jerk chicken and it was amazing. Hubby had the smoked beef. Same . But the potato and cheese soup was absolutely memorable. I will definitely be coming back. Maybe I can remember to take more pictures before I devour it all

I’m a regular and a fan of the food at Uncle Bud’s Place. Reading the negative reviews, I’m disappointed in the community who don’t give this local business, run by a a few hardworking people, the courtesy that they’re also only human. I wish the people who leave bad reviews would consider that these people work, as most of us do, VERY hard to run a business. Uncle Bud’s is our favorite for their darned good food. Their service is also to be admired for such a small team (no shift changes, just the same few people every day no matter how busy). And of course mistakes or dissatisfaction will come up; however, the owner is VERY down to earth and loves their craft…meaning they would LOVE to hear some direct feedback and be given the chance to make something right if it’s not. But instead, people keep it to themselves and then blast the business online. Gain some confidence, people, and talk to them! You’ll learn that service-based workers who actually take pride in their work, like the people of Uncle Bud’s Place, will LISTEN to your concerns and make it right. Why? Because feedback is healthy, progressive, and usually leads to a mutual solution. I support the owners of one of Prescott’s gem local restaurants.

Once you’ve been there, you’ll be addicted with the uncle Bud’s food. I can tell that he is so proud of his food and I am totally in it. The corn bread is fantabulous!
Only cons: I should drive an hour to get there from Sedona.

Stopped here to get some food to enjoy while at Prescott’s Bluegrass Festival and the muffuletta did not disappoint! I’m a native New Orleanian, so expectations were high. This sandwich was loaded with meat and cheese and plenty of olives on a good quality Italian bread– not a round loaf, but very good nonetheless. I was warned that the half size would be plenty for two people, but I ordered a full size anyway. Guess who still has half a sandwich to take home?!?
