My partner and I were part of a party of five. The food was good. We ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken, and both were very well done. The meat was tender and the flavor was on point. Easily the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself felt a bit dilapidated. Items were scattered around the dining area, which made the space feel cluttered and uninviting.

Service was poor. Our server seemed inexperienced and inattentive. For our party of five, a 20% automatic gratuity was added without any notice. I normally tip 30%, so the issue wasn’t the gratuity itself, but the lack of communication. What made it more confusing was that at checkout, we were still given the option to leave an additional tip, and we almost ended up tipping twice.

There’s real potential here and I am excited for a Jamaican restaraunt with good food in the Jville area. The food is solid, but clearer communication, better service, and improvements to the atmosphere would make a big difference.

First time trying this place. My husband got a large jerk chicken with steamed rice and plantains. And I got the brown stew chicken with rice and peas, plantains and a side of mac and cheese. As well as fried okra as the appetizer. The wait time indicated that the food was made from scratch and the taste of the food supported this theory. My husband didn’t care for the steam rice, the texture was a bit grainy. The brown stew chicken and rice and peas had a hit of sweetness and the mac and cheese was a little on the drier side but had great flavor. The fried okra was a movement by itself but the sauce made it better. We would try this place again.

We’re from Rocky Mount NC and I went to Boobys got the nonchalant vibe and left to check out this place. The sense of urgency and patience was sincere. I ordered a fried salmon with plantains and rice/beans… They actually put sauce over the rice and beans and it’s pretty good compared to recent dry priors. Thanks guys

The food was very good. I especially liked the Jamrock Shrimp with dipping sauce and the hot honey wings. My daughter said her ox tail meal with rice peas, and cabbage was also really good. We can’t wait to go back.

Update: My daughter and I went back for my birthday. We enjoyed the food, service, music and overall experience. We sat down to eat this time and we felt like we were vacationing on an island. Good vibe!

One of 2 Jamaican restaurants in town as far as we know.

Price was up and servings were stingy to say the least. I left hungry and disappointed.

Flavors were there but, NOT worth what we paid for lunch of 2 with drinks(mango ice tea).

Slow service, took nearly 20 minutes for the food and it really wasn’t crowded when we got there with only one server.

Had to ask for our drinks and napkins after food arrived.

I got a “large” order of curry goat with steamed rice and cabbage. Goat was mostly bones and what little meat there was, it was tender and tasty but, not worth the 19.95 price tag. I’d hate to see what the small look like with $16.95 price tag

Wife got a small order of jerk chicken, kalaloo, rice & beans with side ourder of sweet bread.

Serving pirtions were pretty pathetic considering the prices we paid.

We could’ve gone to buffet and paid less and got more food.

Both ordered mango iced tea.

Total order came out over $50! PLUS $5 tip.

We DO NOT recommend nor going back to this restaurant again.

The restaurant is clean and the food is amazing! Time was around 6 pm Thursday , not busy at all. Food was at our table fairly quik once oder was placed. The server was a little slow pace for two tables only at this time. It’s definitely worth trying!

I stopped in yesterday, the day of their grand opening and I had an order of curry goat/ white rice/ steamed cabbage and fried plantains.

There was a little bit of a wait as the restaurant was pretty busy, but it was worth the wait 100%, the food was amazing as always…. the portion size was very generous and the service/ the wait staff was very professional/ courteous. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Been fans of these brothers for many years, supported them when they were in Jacksonville, then on to Wilmington and now back here in Jacksonville.

As a Caribbean food lover and someone who has been to Jamaican restaurants all over the world.

Their food is in my top 3 ever, everyone who I bring to the restaurant is crazy about the food and comes back for more with more friends.

When you’re eating there, it isn’t just Caribbean people you run into but people from all over…

The food has a universal appeal but it’s 100% authentic Jamaican.

Excellent food. They could use another server but the one on duty was great. Highly recommended. I can’t wait to return. Even my picky 4 year old gave it 2 thumbs up!
UPDATE
This has become a regular place for me and I love it!! Drinks are on point and the food and waitress never disappoint.
