Local favorite! The Maid-Rite sandwiches are very good and the service is equally good. The inside seating is limited when they are busy, but when the weather is nice there is ample outside seating available.

This is a hit or miss place. Preferably best to go on the weekend probably due to tourists. My order has always been correct and the milkshakes are pretty good. My only real complaint is that I got a Big Jim and the ham they usually put on it is cold which literally takes away from it for being a hot sandwich and hitting the taste buds differently.

I have been hearing about this Iowa classic sandwich “mini-chain” with one conveniently located in Ohio.
I stopped in to try Maid-Rite for the first time when I was passing through the surprisingly cute small town of Greenville.
Honestly the sandwich was just ok, although I could definitely see it being nostalgic comfort food. However the owner is is a bit of a control freek with “do not” signs everywhere for the most innocuous deeds.

Came back for a Maid-Rite when I was visiting my folks and I never remembered the line being so long 15 years ago! Totally worth it tho. Place still crushes it. The crumbly little sandwich is so good. Go for a classic or cheese-rite & a banana shake. You won’t be disappointed.

OK so maybe I am just not into “loose meat” sandwiches. First time here…have heard about it forever. Could definitely taste the Worcestershire sauce! Otherwise kind of DRY. Pickles and onions helped a bit. Thinking offering some kind of liquid cheese for the cheese variant would help the dryness. Glad I tried it, though.

We have been going to Maidrites for around 30 years. Always a great meal. The shakes are so good. There is not a lot of seating inside, but if the weather is nice, there are plenty of picnic tables out back. We have never been disappointed with the food or service. Make sure to order more than one sandwich. You’ll want at least 2, but we always get some to take home.

First time visiting to see what all the fuss is about. I found the Maid-Rite sandwich to be of really good taste, but the value is lacking. For such a small sandwich I would expect a better price. The service was quick and the atmosphere was ok. I may stop again, but I wouldn’t rank it near the top of my “must return* list. Sorry, but it’s just not for me mainly for the value.

Food is always good but customer service is almost always bad. I’ve called in multiple carry out orders and whether or not they will do it depends on who answers the phone. At first they said they couldn’t do them, then it had to be a certain amount, which is fine but when you try to order that amount they still tell you no. I live over an hour away and would like to have the order ready. If you don’t want to do carry out orders then remove on your website where it states carry outs are welcome.

I don’t see much hype in the sandwiches. But what I did have(3 Maid-Rite burgers and a Coke) was good but a little overpriced. But was worth going. The parking is a little odd but they stay busy/packed.
