After 25 years of starting and running restaurants, Cameron Lumsden and wife, Amanda, started playing with the idea of Fork and farm to Fork in 2010…we knew it would take a lot of effort to make these words mean something. And that’s what we’re trying to do, by making the ideas—the big ideas—behind these words not just marketing slogans, but at the core of how we spend our day. It all starts with the food, of course. That’s why we’ve developed our “Loyal to Local” pledge, a commitment that has us sourcing many of our key ingredients from local Boise and Northwest farmers, ranchers, bakers, distillers, brewers, producers and cheese makers. The result is a menu that is as surprising as it is familiar. #LoyalToLocal

It was a nice place to eat, the drinks were delicious, the food was delicious. We arrived at 4 pm. I really wanted the prime rib, they were lovely. The waitress let me wait for the prime rib. It was delicious. We ordered apps and the truffle fries, asparagus fries, and Brussels sprouts we so good. My husband got the wagyu burger, he said it was a tad bit salty for him. Would go again! Thank you for the good food and great service.

Fork knocked it out of the park for a pre-movie dinner downtown.

We started with the asparagus fries, and wow—absolutely fantastic. Perfectly crisp, light batter, and that house-made ranch is hands-down A+. Honestly, I’d order the ranch by the bottle if they’d let me.

We both went with the crispy chicken sandwich. I loaded mine up with the chili aioli, buffalo sauce, and pepper jack, and it delivered big time—crispy, juicy, and full of flavor without being over-the-top. My wife paired hers with the house-made chips, which were great, but what really stole the show was my side…

The tomato bisque. Full stop: it’s the best tomato bisque I’ve ever had. Ever. Period. Rich, balanced, comforting—give me a bowl of that with a grilled cheese and I’m set for life.

Add in great beers on tap, excellent service, a warm, inviting ambiance, and—bonus points—easy downtown parking, and you’ve got a winner. The food was fantastic, the experience was smooth, and Fork is officially in our regular rotation from here on out.

Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed our visit. I had the salmon salad (with avocado added) and it was the best salad I’ve ever had. It was HUGE (but not way too much to eat, I still finished it) and so fresh and delicious. Lots of yummy, healthy toppings that were wonderful.

Our waiter was lovely, and took good care of us as we ordered a few rounds of drinks.

We got the grilled cheese fondue and it was fantastic. You should definitely try it!

The desert was also wonderful. Both the bread pudding and the butter cake were exceptional.

I really enjoyed the vanilla old fashioned, as well.

Overall, an excellent restaurant for a special meal— yet very affordable!!

Every once in a while I stumble upon a dish that is so simple and excellent that I can’t believe I never considered it before. As an avid lover of grilled cheese and tomato soup, let me just say that the tomato basil fondue with grilled cheese is so perfect. Additionally, the salmon skin was so perfectly crispy that I don’t think I can ever eat salmon the same way again.

10/10 will be coming back

Nice calming vibes. Ordered half of a house salad, still very large portion.
Ordered 2 kids cheese burgers, super cute.
Brussels sprouts were delicious ( must have appetizer) thank god they didn’t have blue cheese on them.
Very well priced. Staff was great. Everything came out togther which was nice.
I loved they asked if anyone at the table had food allergies and was very knowledgeable and made sure there was no cross contamination.

I had visited once before about a year ago, and I finally got my husband to go with me. This is a great place to bring family, visitors, or even to get together with friends. We had a lunch date and left full and happy.

I started with an Espresso Martini they called a Carajllo. It was deliciously smooth. The twist of adding lemon was fine, but I think I’d like it more without it.

My husband and I then shared the following three appetizers:
-Asparagus ‘Fries’: These were some of the thickest asparagus I’ve seen. The breading was great but could have used a bit more flavor.
-Tomato Basil Fondue & Grilled Cheese: Honestly, I would change nothing about this dish. It’s so fun and tasty. The bread keeps its crunch, which I appreciate.
-Wagyu Sliders: These were my least favorite. They were a tad greasy and plain in flavor. I do always love the arugula on sliders, though!

I never thought a restaurant could change the way I think about breakfast, lunch, and the very shape of existence — but Fork did that. Let me explain, because this isn’t just another review. This is the story of how a humble morning at Fork spiraled into one of the most unexpectedly transformative experiences of my adult life.

First, some context: I am a reluctant traveler. I’m the type who plans against spontaneity. My suitcase has a stringent checklist; my internal GPS is calibrated to “avoid unfamiliar turns.” Yet here I was, trudging down 8th Street in Boise at 10:37 AM with a nebulous longing for pancakes but no idea why, exactly, my soul felt slightly hollow that morning. Probably existential ennui coupled with only three hours of sleep after trying (and failing) to teach my cat to fetch.

I arrived at Fork like someone unknowingly stepping onto the threshold of a storybook forest. There was laughter spilling out of the open windows — joyful, unpretentious, warm — and it felt like being invited to dinner by someone who already knew your favorite color. The hostess greeted me with a grin that suggested Fork had secrets worth sharing. She seated me at a table by the window, where the morning sun hit just right — think God’s spotlight, but gentle.

One of my favorite places now in downtown Boise. The filet mignon was excellent, paired with the butter cake it can’t be beat. Great atmosphere and amazing staff. Great location just north of the convention center and south of the capital. Will return here again when in the area.

4-stars all around. We decided to walk around downtown Boise. Frankly, I was impressed. They did a good job laying out the restaurants and shops around the university area.
The Fork was American cuisine done with the farm-to-fork (table) principle. We ordered the wagyu beef sliders the fig salad braised beef and their famed butter cake plus cocktails of course. All good! Wished we also tried the asparagus fries
The service was attentive and just right. This is definitely recommended if ever you’re in the Boise area.
There are other interesting restaurants there to try to.

Great place to grab a bite, cool atmosphere and tasty food made with high quality local ingredients. I had the steak but would love to come back and try more dishes. They make a good old fashioned too!
