With me being a huge fan of KC BBQ, I was excited to stop here and try them out.
The good:
The staff was very friendly, helpful, professional on par with a what a restaurant like this should have. 5 stars all day long.
The atmosphere was a little much but still well thought out by the owners/management for their own brand.
The food choices looked awesome, the appetizer was awesome, BBQ egg rolls, well done! Then the main food time came… We ordered a Dave’s Famous Burger and a BBQ Salad.
On the burger, it just lacked the taste you expect out of a good burger. The fries, no seasoning worth talking about and just bland.
On the BBQ Salad, there was WAY to much going on. The very thin layer of meat on top was good but underneath it was filled with ingredients that had no business being there. I am not sure if it was just cabbage or actually coleslaw added but it didn’t work with the other flavors. I ate the top layer and called it good. Disappointed for the price.
I consider myself a BBQ Salad connoisseur of sorts lol so I am super crucial over them.
I won’t say I’ll never go back, I will say that I am not going out of the way to do it.
Lunch on a Sunday afternoon, was delicious and appetizers were great.
Definitely worth the visit!
Will be returning soon
We drove past Famous Dave’s, and it looked like a really nice place to eat so we stopped in.
Man, were we surprised by how great it was.
The ultimate burger with the pulled pork was amazing, the corn muffins were to die for, and the macaroni and cheese was outstanding, despite our being hesitant about it having corn.
The only thing better than the food was the service. It was quick and our waitress, Britteny, was phenomenal.
Between the country music, the rustic feel, the great food, and Brittney’s impeccable service, us Texans felt right at home.
I have no doubt we will be back at least one more time before we head back to the lone star state.
