At our Alexander City, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Mr Billy definitely has the fish in point each and every time I dine in to eat. What a great guy. Ms Jones has a remarkable smile and greeting to die for whenever I arrive. A great place to eat. Very clean establishment with a fabulous staff.

Now my story here is almost comical.. My baked potato was cold (No big deal) but my rice was so raw it was bouncing off my plate but that’s not even the bad part. The bad part was when I was in there trying to eat the employees (2 teenage females) got to arguing (almost fighting) over who took a poop in the ladies restroom and why it was covering the toilet..
Obviously not good talk to be yelling across any restaurant.. The time was about 3pm on 11/09/2024 Alexander city Alabama.. Just making that clear..

The service was great. Employees were friendly. The food was alright. My our stuffed crab was burned on the outside, but 1 piece was undercooked on the I side. The rest of the food was good. The main complaint was a bad odor when you first walk in. I think it was coming from the sewage lines. The odor was really bad in the bathroom.

Went through drive thru and had my order taken by Ms. Kimberly and let me say she is the most genuinely nice, caring person I have spoken to!!! She absolutely made mine and my 2 year old daughters day. She made sure our order was fresh and we had the sauces that we asked for. Everything about our experience was PERFECT!!!!! Honestly, ms Kimberly made it perfect. We will be coming back for sure !!!!

If I could give this place a negative 5 ⭐️ I would most definitely do so! Extremely slow and after waiting nearly 30 minutes at the window the food tasted like it was leftover from the day before! Utterly pathetic! I thought after waiting for 30 minutes we could get some fresh food but it was far from being fresh! We just paid $23 for dog scraps! 2nd time I have went to this location and had bad food! I wouldn’t recommend sending an enemy to eat here!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch. There were no customers in line yet we waited 5 min before one of the cooks noticed us and hollered for someone to get out to the cash register. The food was fine – no complaints there as it’s typical Captain D’s. The one thing we didn’t order, and could’ve done without, was the personal chatter and yelling back/forth between workers in the dining area and front counter – which is why I’m only giving 3 stars.
