A few friends and I stopped here for lunch one day on our way up from Gatlinburg back to home. We saw the reviews here and decided to give it a try.
Boy were we disappointed. The food wasn’t that good. I ordered the elote cup/esquites, but it was too sour. The corn was also hard and very watery. I’m not sure what brand of mayo they use, but it’s not good. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
The tacos were ok. They were definitely burnt. They were extremely oily to the point of where you needed napkin everytime you held a taco. The flavor could’ve been way better and was lacking. I’ve had better birria elsewhere.
Overall, I believe this food isnt good. The staff was respectful and attentive. The food was a let down.

Ate here for lunch while in town. I ordered the a Paloma to drink along with an Elotes cup, one queso birria taco with a side cup of consume, one tripa taco, and the Birria Ramen which came with a side of tortillas. Everything was delicious except the birria was very bland in flavor.

We had La Tapatia Taco Truck come and cater a private party, and it was amazing! They were very responsive in communication, on time, and prepared. The food was delicious. The guests and the host got quite a treat! I highly recommend.

The tacos are FANTASTIC! I’ve been all across the country and these guys certainly make authentic tacos.
There are areas of improvement to be made though!
1.The tacos need more cilantro
2. The chips are practically pulled out of a baseball stadium. They aren’t the right chips to suit the atmosphere.
3. Neither are the chairs or tables.
4. The tacos came on a paper plate for some reason, while the the appetizer was in a regular bowl. Easy fix
5. The cheese/sausage appetizer tasted ok. But the cheese solidified before it even got to me. Chips were breaking as I tried to scoop it up. I would recommend using a much more liquid cheese.
6. Service was kind of slow to get my check
I’ll be back for sure, but I’ll try a different appetizer next time.

The reason I rate a two is I ordered a big plate to have some lunch which was not satisfying for me the plate name is Mi Tapatia. It consists of beef steak and chicken fajita topped with shrimps with rice and beans, small salad. The shrimps were good but the steak and chicken was to hard to eat and also needed more taste. I had to order something else and ordered the a order of tacos called Guadalajara Biria which were real good that one i did finish.

The most authentic Mexican restaurant I have been to. This place is run by a family. Food and drinks are amazing. I felt like it was home made food. Not in a great location though. Food, people, service, hospitality, ambient the best. If you are looking for a authentic mexican food at reasonable price then dont look anywhere else..I will definitely go there again.

Mi Tapatia has some of the best tacos I have had, and I look forward to trying more of the menu. Today I had the tacos de barbacoa, Guadalajara style. The tortillas were orange from being fried and were the perfect level of crispy. The barbacoa was savory and just perfect. The spicy salsa on the side was the perfect addition.
