Xela Pan is an excellent little cafe with delicious and affordable food. We loved the empanadas and tamales we ordered. I would definitely visit again to try more dishes.

What a wonderful coffee spot! I needed to find a place to work for a bit before meeting a friend for dinner and this was perfect. The coffee is probably the best on Buford Highway!
Ambiance:
Warm, cozy, bright environment. Plenty of seating including booths and a larger table for bigger groups in the middle. I was the only one there at 5pm on a Tuesday evening. They leave you to be to do your own thing, which was perfect for me to work. Was unsure if there was wifi, but I was able to use my own hotspot just fine.
Food:
There are many Guatemalan baked goods. They have sweet breads (of many shapes), a sweet corn bread, and then corn arepas filled with cheese (this is what I got, and it was DELICIOUS). They offer to warm it up for you.
The cappuccino is to die for!! It comes in a HUGE mug, with cinnamon and chocolate syrup on top but the coffee itself is unsweetened and smooth. Perfect with a pastry. There is a large menu including many delicious dishes, such as soups and stews (caldo de res, guisados), homemade tortilla dishes (some Mexican dishes like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc.) seafood dishes, fajitas, and tamales. There is also a kid’s menu and lots of fruit drinks. They also have atoles, which are Guatemalan traditional drinks.
Service: Attentive, kind, and fast. I will definitely be back to support this small business!

This place is awesome. The food is delicious and the service is great. I’ve had a few of their dishes and they all tasted like homemade. The Paches de papa are my favorite .

For real! If you want authentic, this is the place. Opens at 6:30am for the campesinos ( #respect ) I ordered the Chapin breakfast, scrambled eggs, black beans, rice, plantains, side of cream and cheese, and 3 homemade tortillas. CASH TIP if you can. Oh and I got the cappuccino and told her to put the restaurant name on it for this post!!

First time eating here. I got the pechuga a la plancha which was delicious (seasoned grilled chicken breast with rice, blended beans, salad and tortillas). It was too late to take a picture, I was already half way done. The cappuccino was really good and it was a decent size.

This panaderia is an amazing spot for some authentic guatemalan cuisine. The tamales which are very different than Mexican tamales were varied and delicious. Also the platanos fritos which included plantains beans cotija and crema was a wonderful bite. The cost is very affordable and the staff were wonderful. I will suggest you may want to brush up on your spanglish but in case you’re not the most fluent (me) they are more than helpful to help you figure out what you’re asking for.

Delicious! The pepian is delightful, tender braised chicken in a rich comforting sauce. Recommend.

We only went to the bakery — the cubilete was delicious and bought some champurradas to take home with us. My husband is Guatemalan and said it smelled just like home.
