I tried your food for the very first time recently and I was impressed. The staff manages to keep everything clean and full at almost a magical pace. My only complaint would be about changing up the desserts. I’ve now been 3 times in a few weeks and the desserts are always the exact same. Some variety would be awesome because your desserts are amazing! That key lime pie is yummy

Always have a good time at this buffet. You can ask employees anything and they’ll make it happen. Our server was very personable, sweet, and constantly checked on us.

We came as a large group of 15 during the dinner rush. We waited about 10 minutes in line to pay and then found an area to sit.
The steak with sauted onions and mushrooms were to die for. The ice cream machine was done, but the slushy machine was working just fine. We all enjoyed our food and dessert.

This was the first time we have been to a Golden Corral Buffet & Grill in Illinois, and have given a 5 star rating! Upon entering, we were greeted with such a welcoming vibe from the young lady at the ordering/front station. Such an excellent variety of food to choose from. The food stations were continuously stocked and wiped down. The food items were super fresh, not dried out like most buffets. The tables were quickly cleared and wiped down. The traffic was amazingly quick, people right in and right out. Our waitress was super friendly, quick to never let our drinks go empty, and have our plates cleared, she was WONDERFUL! The store itself was super clean, with fully stocked restrooms. All the employees were very busy and worked extremely well with one another. What a great experience, when we are back this way, we’ll definitely visit again! 5 stars for above and beyond service!! 🙂

I haven’t been to a Golden corral in probably 8 years due to a bad experience in a different location, but was traveling through and decided to try again. I wish I would of caught her name, I believe she was a manager, she had dark hair and older, she was all over. She was extremely helpful and we t out of her way to help me figure out an ingredient due to allergies. They were extremely busy but she insisted on getting the answer. Ty

My wife and I always stop when we’re in Springfield! Our last visit was during lunch , and we both enjoyed the variety offered. Some of the items were a little scarce in the steam trays, but I am owing that to a time when things are very busy (12:45).
We’ll be back and make sure to order some lobster tails. We didn’t realize we could order them when we first arrived. Now we know!

We drove a few hours for a doctors appointment we decided to visit Golden Corral before heading home. Very clean and welcoming our service staff was Nam and she was amazing ❤️❤️ our table was always clean and drinks filled.

Overall, not a bad experience at all! We got there around 10, ready to conquer breakfast before the 11 a.m. cutoff — but the buffet was looking a little picked over at first. For the price, I expected a bit more variety right out of the gate. Thankfully, around 10:45 they finally rolled out some fresh breakfast favorites, and that definitely helped save the day (even if it was just 15 minutes before switching to lunch, which was a little frustrating).
It was pretty busy — but hey, it’s Golden Corral, that’s part of the adventure! Service was friendly, though a bit slow. Not sure if they were short-staffed or just juggling too many tables (former server here, so I get it), but our drinks took a while and the plates piled up fast.
Once the hot food hit the line, though, everything tasted great and we left full and happy. Just wish the timing — and maybe the price — lined up a little better with the experience.

I’ve lived within about 15 minutes from Springfield for about 5 years now, and just within the last month I have been to Golden Corral about 4 times. Normally it’s a Saturday or Sunday when I’m off work. Breakfast Cheesy Shredded Potatoes is my go to. I was just late a couple weeks ago and the new manager was there next to the register. I said when do you guys switch over. Normally about 10:30-11:00. He said he hasn’t been there super long but runs a tight ship. 100% I could tell from years in the past going there it’s changed. I think the place is GREAT now. Typically I always get to go. Luckily today I got in there as they were switching to Lunch. So I was able to get my Cheesy Shredded Potatoes and Lunch which just consisted of a Fried Chicken Leg, Mashed Potatoes with Brown Gravy and Green Beans. Nothing special. Super Delicious. Normally I don’t do reviews, but I thought today’s experience and chatting with the manager a few weeks ago was very positive.

Food was better than average for a buffet. Everything was pretty fresh, which one should expect at noon on a Saturday. Service is largely unnecessary and somewhat inconvenient. Drinking glasses are tiny and i kept having to wait for drink refills I should’ve been able to get for myself. Decor is almost nonexistent and what is there is bland. Tables are scrunched together so close that people kept bumping my chair walking by. Price was the worst. $66 for 2 adults and 2 kids for lunch. They even have the audacity to charge an additional $3.29 for the drinks that should be included in buffet price. Not a terrible experience overall, but definitely not worth the money.
