Been here a couple of times in the past. Recently stopped by again and ordered a brisket meal with two sides. Garlic bread is amazing when it’s fresh and warm. Mac and cheese was really good with a nice mild flavor cheese. It goes downhill from here. Baked beans were smoky, not sweet with sauce that was kind of thin. Brisket portion for the meal looks about a quarter pound (3-4 slices?). Brisket was tender, but not melt in your mouth consistency. Price was a little on the high side considering small protein portions. I’ve been to BBQ places in the Southeast, Midwest, and others in California. This place is just ok.

Redwood BBQ has the best BBQ meats in the peninsula. Tender, savory and smoky goodness that will stick to your belly and leave you satisfied. My favorite is the tritium and spicy links. Their cornbread, baked fresh on site, is heaven itself. Their proprietary BBQ sauce is tangy, sweet, and seasoned to perfection. As for the sides, their potato salad is amazing.
This place is good for when your inner carnivore is roaring for substance. Their fountain drinks feature special carbonated flavors, a must try.

OMG!! I was a little iffy walking in since the place was empty, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. The bathrooms are located outside, and while the indoor seating is small, they do have a nice outdoor seating area—I decided to sit outside!
Now, let me tell you… this is hands down the BEST BBQ I have ever had. The food literally melted in my mouth!! Every single bite had me saying, “OMG.” I kept wanting to order more just to try everything, but I had to hold back and save it for my next visit.
This spot is truly a hidden gem, and I’m so glad I found it. I’ll definitely be back soon!

I am leaving this review because there may be others who are visiting the bay area and actively seeking good barbecue. I have been here in the bay area for a little over two years. I’m originally from Alabama and if we don’t know anything else in the south, we do know bbq and college football! Lol!! Although I completely fell head over hills in love with the bay area, living here left much to be desired when it came to good barbecue. I kept trying to find a place that was selling AUTHENTIC hickory smoked barbecue, not just some oven baked meat with barbecue sauce added for flavor. I’m talking about the type of barbecue that you can smell two or three blocks before you arrive in the location. I’m talking about the type of barbecue that requires a full smoker set up and is flavored so well that the barbecue sauce is an accent, not a necessity. And when I walked into this place, they offered ALL OF THESE THINGS! Every cut of meat was flavored deeply, to the bone and the smokiness was the undeniable kind that lands in your mouth and, even after you swallow it, you don’t want to drink a sip of water for a minute because you just want to allow that delicious flavor to remain on your taste buds just a moment longer. This barbecue instantly transported me back home, on the Gulf Coast after a bad hurricane, when everyone loses power so the entire neighborhood is saturated in smells of barbecue and sounds of families and friends talking and laughing outside while we are all trying to cook the meat from the fridge before it spoils while also using the grill to keep the mosquitoes at bay. This barbecue is absolutely PHENOMENAL!
If you are looking for a laid back barbecue restaurant with country music in the background, outside seating and those terrible plastic flowers from the dollar tree as centerpieces, you have come to the right place! This place did not disappoint and it is my new favorite place to eat when I want to be instantly transported back home.

I ordered the three meat meal, beans were not cooked all the way. Tasted like they came straight from an unseasoned can, Mac and cheese was the same, no taste. The garlic bread was chewy, tasted like bread that was heated up in the microwave with garlic butter, the chicken is super spicy without anyone saying it’s spicy, no flavor or seasoning that had any taste, if that makes sense. The hot links were just heated up no grill marks or char, and the burnt ends were severely dry. Would I come here again no, not in the least.

If you want great BBQ, this is your spot! One of my go-to favorites is the Santa Maria Salad w/tri-tip. It’s jammed packed with meat and an assortment of veggies. It isn’t a cheap salad but it definitely is enough for 2 meals!! 100% recommend.

Absolutely fantastic BBQ spot! The brisket here is next-level—perfectly smoked, tender, and packed with flavor.
The portion sizes are generous, making it a great value for the quality of food you get.
The craft beer selection is well-curated, with plenty of options to pair with your meal.
Service is always friendly and reliable, whether you’re dining in or taking out.
If you’re in the area, this place is a must-try. Highly recommend!

Fantastic BBQ place with an amazing brisket. Bought the three meat combo ribs, brisket, and tri tip. Came with three sides and got the Mac n cheese, cornbread. And fries. All of the food was amazing with awesome customer service. Hope make it around the area again and I’ll go out of my way for it!

I’ve been on the search for a good bbq place in redwood city for the past few weeks. After trying Capelo’s a few times and being disappointed, I decided to try this place, and I can safely say this place is a clear favorite.
I had the brisket, Mac and Cheese, and Potato Salad.
The star of my meal was the brisket, juicy and tender with a well seasoned crust, very good. The mac and cheese, while not being quite what expected, tasted great, it was well seasoned and had a nice subtle garlic flavor. The potato salad was very solid, a bit too heavy on the onions for my taste but that’s a personal preference.
I’ll grant that Capelo’s has great atmosphere and vibe, but if you value the quality of your food more than the vibe of the restaurant, this is THE place for bbq in Redwood City.

Ordered through UberEats the Rib meal– Mac& Cheese, BBQ Chips, Garlic Bread, BBQ Sauce on the side & utensils. Didn’t get the BBQ chips, No BBQ sauce and No utensils. Disappointed ☹️
Not a happy camper. The Ribs were tender and good, M&C needs help, it’s anemic in seasoning.
