This is an awesome local gem in Hell’s Kitchen. Cozy and warm, with lots of wood and charm. Great atmosphere. The menu is extensive, reasonable and covers lots of tastes. We came for lunch and enjoyed great cocktails like the Bee Sting (bourbon with ginger, honey & lemon – delicious!) and Hudson Margarita (frothy and tasty!) The matzo ball soup was very fresh, the vegetable potstickers were a great appetizer, and the pastrami hash (served with two sunnyside up eggs) was so flavorful and filling I skipped dinner!) Their NY cheesecake was also fresh and very light. Mahayla was a delightful server and the food and drinks were excellent! We’ll definitely be back!

As a gluten free person and not by choice, I’ve definitely had better burgers for the price Friedman’s offers. The buns came cold and crumpled even before I picked them up. Avocado on my burger cost $3 to add and I was expecting a fine amount, however there was only 3-4 tiny and thin slices. I also ordered turkey bacon on my burger and it was cold and hard. The only warm thing on my burger was the patty, which was bland and unseasoned. I ended up eating my burger without the bun and so did my partner.
The Korean wings we ordered for an appetizer were not bad. The ambiance and service was good. But I’ve tried another Friedman’s location and thought I got them on a bad day… When I tried this place here, it’s just confirmed that Friedman’s doesn’t like to season their food, is overpriced, cold and tasteless. For a place that markets gluten free at a high price, at least get buns that stay together.

I have eaten at other Freidmans locations. This was my first time here. It was around lunch and the restaurant was full. There was a few of people in the har and at a bar table. They asked if we wanted to wait of sit in the bar. We wanted to wait, after a fee minutes they sat us at a bar table and when a booth was free they moved us inside. My lunch companion got the Freedman’s club which I’ve had at other locations and loved, they loved it too. Since it was a holiday i had the poached eggs with greens, latkes and nova. It was amazing. They pancakes tasted homemade, though I haven’t had them in forever, but i enjoyed them extra. We also shared a banana bread which was also very good. The bathroom was clean. The staff were very polite. You are definitely going for the food, not a lot of decor, but I would def go back when I’m in that neighborhood.

We had Mahayla as our server last year when we stopped in during Westminster dog show week. We came back this year because of the stellar service and great food and had Mahayla again just by chance! She’s incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and so helpful. The place was packed, but she never made us feel rushed.

There was a lot of variety beers and cocktails. The food selection wasn’t bad either. The place was a little small inside with some outside seating. It’s close to Jacob Javits Center so it’s good for after conventions.
More importantly the food was very good and the service attentive. I had the brick chicken which was moist and well-seasoned. The pastrami sandwich that my husband had was solid.
