Honestly, I don’t understand the hype and all the 5-star reviews on this place. We were there on NYE which was probably a mistake. They were very busy and after we refused to be seated in front of the door (it was cold!) our service was awful. It took 20 minutes to get our drink order taken and over an hour to get our food, while tables that came in after us had already completed their meals. No one refilled our water or asked if we wanted a second drink. And then there was the food. The crab cakes were very tasty but there wasn’t a whole lot of crab meat for an appetizer picked over $20. The seafood dynamite was described as spicy – I guess they consider coconut milk a spice? It was terrible, so sweet that it was almost inedible. My husband ordered a special that was described as containing seafood, beef and peppers, but surprisingly it also contained a load of mushrooms and he hates mushrooms! After we had waited so long for our food, he was hesitant to ask for another entree, so he picked out the mushrooms and dealt with it. We spoke with a manager who thanked us for our concerns, but they did not offer anything to make it right. We aren’t the type of people who expect meals to be comp’ed, but for a tab of $118 before tip, we expected better. We won’t be back.

Tried Wave for the first time. The food was good, I had the mango chicken with fried rice. Decent, didn’t blow my socks off. Service attentive, not exceptional but nothing to complain about. The atmosphere was weird to me. Had a “fancy” vibe but most everyone there was casually dressed, including me. I would go again, but probably won’t be a regular stop for me.

Top-notch food. Very high quality and unique Asian cuisine. One of the best restaurants of any type in Omaha. I have never had a bad or even mediocre dish here. The pan seared dumpling appetizer was excellent. The dumplings are tasty with a light batter. The portion size is ample for an appetizer and probably enough for 3 people to leave room for the entree. I ordered the Yakisoba noodles with chicken. They were not stingy on the chicken and somehow manage to elevate what would appear to be an ordinary dish of noodles into a delight from the first bite to the last. The portion size is large. The bread rolls are some of the best anyway as they taste like a light and fluffy funnel cake. No butter is needed in my opinion. The restaurant is family owned and the service is usually welcoming, attentive, and professional. Try this place tonight if you have not already.

So, I took my wife there for my birthday for the second time I’ve ever eaten there. The first experience I had was lunch a few months back, which was excellent. This time, however not so good. The nighttime server was let’s say was a little arrogant and suggested things that I didn’t want. I asked for fried egg noodles to put on top of my hot and sour soup. This I was informed that they didn’t have this, and the cooks could not make these. The last time we were there for lunch they had no problem doing this for us. He then proceeded to bring us out rice noodles instead. Which are not even close to what a fried egg noodle is in the soup. We then proceeded to put our order in for food of
which he mixed up. My wife’s was made the way I wanted mine with no onion and mine included onion, which I request requested no onion. He knew he was wrong by admitting it. Then instead of making it right, he basically asked me to pick the onions off of which I did. Right then and there this was completely unacceptable for the price of this meal. We didn’t say anything and proceeded to eat and finish our meal. Being an ex-chef the first thing that server should’ve done was to remake our plates correctly. This could be why they only had three tables in the whole restaurant at 5:30pm. Also, when we were paying the bill and leaving the table to walk out the door, he was texting on his phone and did not even bother, saying goodbye to us. Apparently his phone call was more important than his customers that are paying his bills. We will not be returning most likely due to the poor service and attitude. The food was average and not as good as the last time for lunch. Disappointing to spend $80 for two people and have a horrible experience like this. It seemed like the other tables they were regulars or friends with and provided them with better service and kindness. I’m sure their plates would’ve been remade due to his error.

We had an event catered by Wave Bistro, and the experience was absolutely exceptional. The owners went above and beyond to prepare delicious dishes that were not only beautifully presented but also full of authentic flavors. Every bite brought me nostalgia from the country I was born in, making the meal even more special. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting. If you’re looking for incredible Asian cuisine with top-notch service, I highly recommend Wave Bistro.

I very much consider myself a Chinese foodie, but probably the American version of Chinese food to be clear. I have eaten at Wave Bistro a few times, and it has always been good. They were busy on this particular evening, but the food was great and we had enough for leftovers the next day too. The prices have gone up, but the portions were very reasonable. If I lived closer, I would come here more often.

This was our first visit to Wave Bistro. My wife and I had a nice quiet dinner to help celebrate our anniversary. The service was great, and our server was extremely knowledgeable. My wife’s scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection! She loves scallops when they’re done right. My chicken was so tender and tasty. In case you need to eat gluten-free, Wave Bistro has you covered. We would definitely go back.

Plenty of good things to say about Wave!
The food was good, and the presentation was fantastic! Service was great, and the cheesecake was good too.

I was told to order the lamb from a friend’s recommendation. It was good, but not my favorite lamb dish to date. Next time I’ll skip it and go for something a little more traditional on their menu.

But did I mention the presentation? So creative, fun, and colorful. Not something you see in a lot of restaurants any more.

We were there just two days ago and food was delicious. OwnerJenny was very friendly and attentive! Great ambience and decor! We had cashew salmon, chicken lettuce wraps, wanton soup, and all of that were delicious. The free bread appetizer are our favorite! Highly recommend this place if you are in the NW area by 144th & Maple next to Home Depot.

The dining room is very beautiful. Much higher end than I had envisioned it.

Hot and sour soup 4.25 stars
Egg drop 3.75 stars

Beef with hoisin sauce 5 stars
Perfect for my taste. My friend though thought it wasn’t salty enough for his.

Chicken in garlic sauce 3.75 stars
Not enough garlic flavor. It was a slightly sweet sauce so if you want a slightly sweet thing it might be for you. The sauce lowered the rating but I was impressed with the chicken not being dry which is an issue I’ve been running into with Chinese American food in Omaha.

Green Thai curry 5 stars
Surprise hit. This i thought was going to be mediocre but turned out to be a great version of yours dish.

Shrimp fried rice 4 stars
Not quite enough wok hay for my taste, but a good version to order still.

Garlic basil crusted chicken with seven spice mango sauce 3 star
I didn’t really enjoy this one all that much. Felt that there are better options. We did notice it wasn’t one of the favorited items, which we were surprised about since it sounded so amazing. Upon eating it I can see why. There’s just better options on the menu

Parking is available in a medium sized shared lot.
