Great place for breakfast and lunch. Our favorite place on this trip!
We ate here every morning during our trip and every time the host and waitress staff was fantastic. They seated us quickly, and our food was served surprisingly fast. Our drinks were always topped off, which is a big bonus for us.
The pancakes were definitely my favorite, and my wife loved the omelet. Shrimp and grits were also top-notch. The pricing for quality and service is aligned with what I would expect. For lunch the fajita quesdilla was yummy.
Thank you to the entire staff and chefs who served us this week. We will be back as we frequently vacation to Bald Head Island and own property not far from here.
Only item of feedback is bigger maple syrup cups with the pancakes.

This place was so good, we came back twice while we were on the island. Service was great. The food was delicious! Everything I got there was sooo good. I definitely think that it’s the best restaurant on the island. Would definitely recommend!!

We’ve eaten here at least two dozen times and everyone is fantastic starting with the manager. They always work so hard and are super friendly and helpful. The beignets are amazing and the rest of the breakfast items are good to excellent. We look forward to our meals there. Prices are very reasonable – for BHI.

This is a great addition to the island! We came with our 3 young kids and everyone agreed. The beignets were delicious as was the bananas foster French toast. However, I have to suggest “The Toast” as it was absolutely delicious. The perfect balance of savory and sweet. Thrilled to see a great brunch spot on BHI!

We visited bald head island for a weekend and tried BHI Boat house for breakfast. We were so impressed with them from service to an excellent cooked breakfast. We both had omelets and an order of the beignets. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu!! Thanks to the chefs and service people for making our visit well worth it!!

I can live with $24 for two eggs, two slices of bacon, three potato pancakes, a biscuits and a side of pancakes. What’s uncool is $1.50 each for a small thing of jelly with no heads up.

Very nice atmosphere and the service was impeccable. The food was good but nothing special for the pricing (47.00 for 2) I had the biscuits and gravy (which was not hot) and it was not traditional southern gravy so I was a little disappointed. The home fries were delish though.

We had a long wait for lunch but the manager explained they had a computer glitch and picked up the tab. That was good. I get it, stuff happens.
However, lunch was not worth waiting for. My fried green tomato BLT was seriously lame. The two slices of green tomato were tough, not breaded or crunchy. The cook obviously had no idea how to make them. The bread was a thin, cheap & tasteless white bread with very little bacon or pimento cheese. The hash “browns” were soft, little cubes, no crispness and seemed to be poured out of a frozen, hash browns bag. Will only return for drinks.

We’ve tried everywhere on the island and this place is the best by far! Excellent food, reasonable prices, great atmosphere and views. The pancakes are some of the best I’ve had, and the omelette was also wonderful. The servers were nice and on top of it. We’ve been to BHI many times, and it can be tricky to find good restaurants as they come and go – The Boathouse is a quality addition and we are so happy they are here!
