My mom, stepdad and I went here after a day hiking some trails in the area. Slightly confusing when looking to be seated, but the staff are friendly and the food was delicious. Mom and I shared the bang bang shrimp and some wings, he had the fish and chips, but we all ended up sharing since it was all so good. Heads up on the teeny tiny parking lot. It is worth the several circles though!

Honestly they have the best staff and the food is amazing. Right on the water. We really enjoy coming here. Even the other patrons are fun and talkative. I can’t remember our servers name, but she is excellent.

We had lunch at the Blue Gator in August 2025. First off, parking is kind of tight and limited, due to limited space. We didn’t have an issue. But I suspect there could be if the Blue Gator is even somewhat busy. We also had no option except to eat on the deck in high humidity and ninety plus degree temperatures, since they kept the indoor dining closed during our visit. It was not bad at first, but got uncomfortable by the time we finished our lunch. They did have a few large fans moving air, but that only did so much.
I’m sure dining on the deck would probably be much more enjoyable between October till April. But it still wasn’t out of the question in August, since we did stay and have lunch. The deck has very limited views of the river, between the seating, railings, and especially the boat docking and shelter roofing that runs the length of the deck.
The food itself we found to be quite good. The prices are of course subject to one’s opinion. But we found them quite reasonable for the times. I had Buffalo Wings and a Yuengling draft. The wife had Clam Strips and baby bakers (chopped garlic potatoes?) As she put it: “Wife Approved”.
We had no complaints with our server. She was friendly and performed her duties in good fashion. The manager also stopped by to make sure everything was good. He left us to visited the next table, and so on. Basically everyone we had contact with, were friendly and professional. We even got a thank you from another man from the front of the boat tour building. Maybe he owns the whole complex? Or maybe he was also just a nice, appreciative employee/person.
All in all, we did enjoy our lunch at the Blue Gator. It was a nice experience having lunch down in that little cove. The bridge with route 41 was right above us, but really didn’t seem like a factor. A nice lunch on the river. Nice trees sheltering us overhead. Good, although not the best views. But nice folks providing a good meal, at what we considered, a reasonable price. What more could we want. Well, maybe a little cooler time of the year. We’ll keep that in mind when we return. In which I’m sure we will.

I had a Gator Po Boy, not memorable and over fried Hush puppies, I couldn’t eat them.
My wife had Cod and she liked it but the Sweet Potato fries were soggy.

Decent place, right on river. We both got the Reuben sandwiches, 7/10 MotoCheez rating. Needed meet sliced a bit thinner IMO and more 1000 island

The food itself was amazing and so was huge atmosphere the service tho was atrocious and it might push me away from coming back. We ordered our drinks and food and the food had came an hour and 30 minutes later and one of our peoples that was there waited even longer totaling up to 2 hours when we ALL got our food and by the time he got his food everyone was almost finished and if not already were the food is more expensive than it should be with the total cost being around $300+ if you like to go here as a local Good for you I don’t know how you guys wait this long if you are looking for a place to eat it’s alright just make sure it isn’t busy Becuase you will be waiting for a while even the people around us were pissed off that they were waiting so long listen just go to a local fast food chain if you don’t have patience.

First of all, there are no signs to direct you where to enter the restaurant. We went on the inside to see if we could get seated on the outside but there was absolutely nobody there. So we wandered outside and was told to sit anywhere. So we did and patiently waited 15 minutes for a drink order. The place was somewhat busy on a Sunday afternoon. They had a crappy 2 man band there didn’t seem to know any songs from the 21st century lol.That being said there was some drunk ladies dancing at 3:00 in the afternoon and all the seats by the river were taken. Our server had to be asked three times to bring me a glass of water. I ordered the $19 grouper sandwich and it was supposed to be blackened and but it sure wasn’t. More like fried and gross. Sweet potato fries for $2 extra and they were greasy like they were soaking in lard for a couple days. It’s a dog friendly restaurant so if you like dogs sniffing around your food and barking this is the place for you. Lots of flies too I got sick from the greasy fat fish that was supposed to be grouper. I do not recommend this place. Very rednecky, overpriced, and just generally country Florida yuck

Great restaurant all around, very friendly service, good recommendations from our server Angela. I got a strawberry banana smoothie, the beer battered cod with fries, Mac and cheese and tartar sauce. Husband got Gator Po-boy and he loved it! Great portions, good prices, the only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait was very long. It seemed like there weren’t enough servers / staff for the size of the restaurant. There also isn’t very much car parking, I hope they can expand it in the future. I would recommend this place as a good local food destination! My husband adds “the Blue Gator did not attack my wallet” haha.

Blue Gator is a nice riverside restaurant with outdoor seating on the river. River view is obscured by the boat docking area, but still nice. Plenty of fans outdoors so even on a hot day you stay cool. I had the fish tacos. Comes with 4 tacos, slaw and two hush puppies. My wife had the grilled shrimp. Both meals were very good.
