The chicken fingers were fantastic! That is their signature dish and they got that so darn good I will be talking about it for awhile. However, the fries were nothing more than starch sticks. No flavor, dense calories without any guilty pleasure. The coleslaw wasn’t great. I’ve had worse, but the bar was set high by KFC decades ago and nobody has been able to meet that high bar. Many have tried and failed, as has Canes. The dipping sauce was disgusting. What was that? It tasted like Thousand Island with a tad of wtf. If I return I’ll tell them to keep it. And can somebody tell me me why I paid for extra Texas Toast and got nothing but a soggy thick slice of bread? They were grilled on one side. Why not both? And if you’re putting it in a plastic container for takeout, maybe wrap it in paper to absorb moisture between point A and point B. Condensation is real. Wet bread is not appetizing to me.
But hey, y’all got the chicken right. Good color, no darkness from old oil. There was a crisp to the batter as expected and the interior was juicy and cooked to perfection. Next time if allowed I’d pay just for chicken ala carte. No sides. Just the chicken. I’m sure it’d have cost a lot less than all the extras I got charged for but did not eat and went in the trash.
The front register girl was very friendly and patient as I tried to figure out what to get for two people. First impressions matter.
So I paid $22 for a Caniac Combo and extra toast. How much for just six chicken fingers? Next time that’s all I want. Money doesn’t grow on trees. Somebody owes me a refund.
Thank you

pros: love the sauce and the Texas toast, chicken tenders are solid white meat, homemade lemonade was spot on.
Cons: Chicken tenders are a little bland, wish they were seasoned or offered a spicy option. my fries, maybe not all fries, were under cooked.
I would probably come back and maybe try the tender sandwich, but I don’t see what all the hype is about, I’d rather another chicken chain, not to be named here.
Inside, the counter was backed up but we only had to wait about five minutes to place our order and about 15 minutes to get our food. The interior is nice and despite how busy they were, there was available seating inside and out. The décor is clean and simple with a touch of eclectic. There is a nice local famous people corner with a nod to the big three high schools. The staff was energetic and engaging, even stopping to do a chicken chant every now and then. I really liked the vibe they created.
We got the box combo which had 4 chicken fingers, fries, slaw and toast for $8.99 (includes drink). The chicken fingers were great. Plump, moist and devoid of those weird tendon things you get in other chicken fingers. The dipping sauce was delightful. It reminded me of In N Out sauce but with a slight kick. I would have liked a bit more kick but it was quite good. The fries were the crinkle cut style and they were nice and crispy. As far as the toast and slaw go, I am not usually a fan of either, usually, but these were pretty good.
