This truly is a family style restaurant. The huge lazy Suzanne in the middle of the table holds a variety of delicious home cooked food that you dip on to your plate and if a bowl is empty they go get another one and bring it out. The waitresses are great and checked on us throughout our meal. At the end we asked for coffee. They brewed a fresh pot and brought out fresh coffee that was so good! We really enjoyed Buckets and recommend if you’re looking to have a good home cooked meal! Only thing I’d suggest is they have more napkins on the table.

The food was good, but the service was better. Lots of friendly smiles everywhere. Such an inviting environment. Loved the turn table with all the fixings I can think of Two things that would have made it a little better gravy and ice cream for the cobbler. It is a family style restaurants but they give you the option to sit with just your family if you like.

I’d heard that Buckner’s had the best fried chicken in Georgia and I had to find out for myself. Taste is subjective, but I’d have to agree. This is the best fried chicken I’ve had in Georgia as of the time of this posting. Now, I’m not from Georgia and my sample size isn’t exhaustive, but it certainly is in the top three from anywhere, for me that is.
I do enjoy the family style dining and a chance to have some nice conversation with folks that didn’t arrive with you. I would recommend trying both barbecue sauces on the fried chicken, but the suggestion I wouldn’t have anticipated to be so good came from a gentleman sharing the table with us. He suggested drizzling some honey on the fried chicken. I did not expect that to be the best bite of the meal, but man o’ man, it was.
Other notable bites were the boiled potatoes and the cream style “shoe peg” corn. The creamed corn was on the black pepper forward way of doing it, which I loved, but just a heads up it’s more savory than sweet. Everything was delicious and it would have been enough just the savory dishes, but the meal rounded off with some absolutely delectable peach cobbler. Don’t forget to save room for the cobbler. You’ll be sad if you don’t.

Buckner has been around since 1980 and offers that down home feel. The round tables with the lazy-susan in the center at your table allows you to stay seated. The servers are very aware when selections are getting low and keep them stocked. Another benefit of the round table is having the opportunity to share a table with other guests if so desired, with added bonus as leaving as if you’ve known those guests for years.

Excellent Excellent restaurant. Food is great the owner Cindy is amazing and I never travel down I-16 without stopping at exit 201. Every other week we have to go to Emory from Savannah and that’s our only stop going and coming home.

1st visit 3/7/26. Drove from Snellville. Table 3. Food was fantastic! Even the peach cobbler was great! Restaurant is clean. Only downside is sitting and sharing utensils with strangers. It was only 2 of us, so they asked if someone could join our table and we agreed. Big mistake! We both were sick by Sat night. The guy that was placed at our table was obviously sick. He didn’t appear to be sick at first. He was the 1st to fix his plate touching the utensils, soon after my husband started coughing. By the time we were leaving the guy was sweating like someone poured water on his head. He’s wiping the sweat off with his hands instead of using a napkin and continuing to get more food. The collar of his shirt was soaking wet by the end. Unfortunately, there was No hand sanitizer on the table. We are both sick as a dog from this experience. If we ever return we will not be accepting strangers at our table. I recommend getting a few tables with 2-4 seats for small parties or couples. I’m very surprised this idea didn’t come up after Covid-19.

Wow!! Exceptional all around. First and foremost, the service is incredible – classic southern charm! Such sweet ladies who ensure you have a great experience! The food is delicious – the free chicken, Cole slaw, and peach cobbler being the stand outs. The staff is very attentive and refill the dishes before you have to ask! It is family style where they put the dishes in the center and you spoon out what you want. Decent prices as well for what you get – good value! When we visited 12/1/24 it was $21.95 a person.
Truly a southern comfort food gem! Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

We’ve been to this restaurant three or four times now. Anytime we’re in the area we make a point to stop by. We discovered it by chance a few years ago when we were camping in the area, and now it’s a tradition that we stop there on our way out of town whenever we’re passing through.
Depending on the day of the week and what time you get there you may have to wait in a long line outside the restaurant to get in, but it goes quickly and it’s worth the wait. They also have fun games outside in the parking area to keep you occupied while you’re waiting, which my kids love.
Once inside, you go up to the register right when you get in and just tell them how many people you have, and what the ages of your party members are. They’ll charge you accordingly, and seat you at a round table with a giant Lazy Susan in the middle of it. Then they’ll just start bringing out whatever food they have cooked that day. You spin the Lazy Susan and dish out what you want. Take as much as you want. They’ll keep bringing more as you run out of things. A server will also offer you a selection of water, tea, lemonade, or coffee.
Today we had fried Chicken, barbecue pulled pork, coleslaw, Brunswick stew, creamed corn, stewed potatoes, the most delicious macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had, cornbread and rolls, and green beans. Dessert was apple cobbler. Everything was fantastic. Always is.
