Smokey Mo’s BBQ here in Temple, Texas truly exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and genuine smiles. The customer service was top-tier — friendly, attentive, and professional. Even when I picked up my order, they thanked me sincerely and made sure I was taken care of before I left. That kind of hospitality goes a long way.
I placed my order over the phone, and let’s be honest — sometimes with takeout you feel like you need to double-check the bag to make sure everything’s there. Not this time. Every single item was included, and not just tossed in. The food was packaged thoughtfully and arranged in a way that kept each item separated, maintaining its individual flavor and integrity. Nothing was soggy, mixed together, or out of place.
On top of that, the restaurant itself was clean, neat, and well-maintained, which immediately gives you confidence in the quality of the food and service.

Delicious! Went with a coworker at lunch time to try for the first time. Everything was so clean and organized. Ordering was simple all of the bonus fixings were available for self serve. Overall, everyone was kind and courteous. It was a great experience. The chicken was great, juicy, and had a nice smokey texture.

Ive had catering from this restaurant at a work event. Food was pretty decent! Decided to stop by to check it out, I like the simple breakfast options the have as well. Not alot of places have a breakfast bowl you can build and i think thats nice, especially for those trying to stick to low carb or certain dietary restrictions! Red salsa wasn’t the best imo but the green was great super good flavor and the right amount of spice.

We did an order through the app for pick up. The only negatives for us were the pork ribs and the amount of smoke on certain items. The pork ribs were a little off tasting, and some portions had way too much salt. The pork belly burnt ends were a very pleasant surprise. The brisket was good. They were sweet and sticky. The homemade roasted cream corn was tasty, the coleslaw was run of the mill not the greatest. The staff was great and friendly the way an establishment should be. It was a great first visit.

It is amazingly good, so good we ate catering our wedding with smokey mo’s to service 125 people. We ordered a 3 meat platter with brisket, turkey, and sausage and 3 sides mac n cheese, cheese bacon potatoes, and cream corn. The staff gave us so much information on the catering and we also got to taste items we did not order and it was no big deal for them to do that. We felt so special, and the BBQ and sides are all delicious it made it hard to decide which ones. I recommend stopping in and grabbing a bite you will not be disappointed with this place.

Food is great. Such a clean restaurant. Bathrooms super clean as well. Carrie was so kind and patient because we had no idea what we wanted. I didn’t feel rushed. She greeted us with a smile and a hello. Great service is hard to find in this industry and that’s pretty sad to say.

My whole family loves this place, when the kids approve, it’s a win for us. So far we have dined in once and picked up once. We have had the turkey and the brisket. My husband said the brisket was good. However the whole family agrees the turkey is perfect, moist and just perfectly cooked! As for the sides, we have had the cream corn and bacon cheddar potatoes and they are both super good, as again the kids approve!

Pretty disappointing, considering all the hype behind this name. The service was nice and friendly, and the place was clean. I got the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs, and turkey. The turkey was pretty good. Tender and juicy. The brisket was very poor quality. The serving temp felt like less than room temperature and it had a tougher texture with a large dried out end on it. I didn’t finish it. The ribs were pretty bland with no flavor or seasoning on them, the texture was ok. Again, not even warm. The Mac n cheese was just cafeteria grade stuff with a somewhat grainy cheese sauce on them. The cheesy bacon potatoes were very bland with zero seasoning and obnoxiously under cooked. They looked nice, but that was it. For $23.50, it was a big disappointment with a good portion going in the trash.
