We stopped in for lunch and it did not disappoint. I ordered the French Dip with a local beer, and my wife got the Reuben. Both were fantastic—great flavor, quality ingredients, and generous portions.
Our server was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely proud of the food. When my wife asked about their homemade dressings, he brought her extra dips so she could try them all. That little touch made the whole experience even better.
If you’re in Charleston and want great food with even better service, Berkley’s is worth the stop!

Debbie and I finally got to check this place out downtown which we pass by frequently. We tried their hummus, beet salad and the French dip sandwich and we were not disappointed. They have lots of cool things on the menu and even a frozen sangria machine with white and red sangria which we sampled 🙂 Try the combo. The service was top-notch also. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a great lunch and experience here as our last stop of our mini honeymoon. We wrote in our reservation that it was our honeymoon, and the restaurant was kind enough to congratulate us and pay some special attention. The service was great and staff were kind and attentive. The food was delicious as well! My husband loved the cheesesteak and I enjoyed the wedge salad with a chicken cutlet. Don’t miss the homemade ice cream!!! That was another highlight of the meal. We had strawberry shortcake ice cream and loved it. Thanks so much, Berkeley’s! We’ll be back when we’re in Charleston again.

Read the reviews and came here with high expectations but I was disappointed. The chicken parm had a huge, crispy piece of chicken which was delicious but the cavatapi was overcooked and tomato sauce was bland. The cheesesteak sandwich and the house made chips were tasty but overall the experience was underwhelming. The portions are large so the prices are justifiable but this isnt a come again for me.

Berkeley’s is always a 10/10 every single time I go. Their portions are massive so there’s always amazing leftovers the next day. Cavatappi is phenomenal, I always add the chicken. The pesto shrimp dish is another go to. Service is usually very friendly and they’re with Blackbird which is always a plus.

Went with a group of 8 friends and overall the service and experience were not the best. It took about 15 minutes just to get our drink order taken. I never got my drink refilled, and it was honestly hard to get our server’s attention throughout the meal.
I know since we were a large group it meant automatic gratuity, which is completely fine and understandable. But the service just did not match that level, which made the experience more frustrating overall.
As for the food, I had really high hopes. The sandwich looked very appealing and I was excited to try it, but the flavor just did not match how good it looked. The chicken was dry and the fries were extremely oversalted. It was a miss for me and I did not even finish my food. Not sure if they were just having a bad night or what.

I had high hopes for Berkeley’s given the strong Google reviews, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The food was pretty subpar, especially considering the prices. I ordered a gluten-free option, which I understand can be tricky, but the bread was clearly old, dry, and completely fell apart. It also lacked cheese, sauce, or much flavor — and they did charge extra for the gluten-free option.
The staff was kind and the space itself is cute with some great fans (literally and figuratively), but the lunch menu is limited and overall, both my friend and I left underwhelmed. Definitely not what we were expecting.

We had the ceasar salad with the chicken cutlet and the chicken parm cutlet sandwich. We were SO impressed! The ceasar salad was my favorite I have ever had. The croutons crumbled/melted in my mouth and the chicken was to die for.

Great food with the nicest staff! Love Berks so much! Eaten here at least 20 times and the food is consistently incredible. Take out, lunch, dinner—they kill it. Highly recommend checking out their other restaurant the Archer as well!
