Ordered takeout of 2 southwest burgers and an extra order of fries last evening. Take out package was all wrapped up so I did not inspect while there. Got home to discover 1 of the burgers was a bacon double (not what I ordered). Opened the container of side fries to find the equivalent of basically one medium sized potato in shoestring fry form and so over cooked they were crispy like kettle-chips…cooked so much they were hollow in the middle. The side order of fries (photo attached) was literally 3.7 oz (weighed on my kitchen scale without container….less than 1/4lbof fries…and I was charged $8.95 for them…basically $10 (including tax). This after spending $50 on the two burgers. Been a customer here several times before. Flavor is good and I’ve come back. But pricing is kinda over the top on the burgers…and $10 for a side of fries when you are already ordering expensive burgers??….insane. Done with Alan’s.

I’m sad to write this. I usually don’t like to beat down a family owned biz, but this place has traded delicious food for quick junk.
We used to come here often for chicken strips and fries with a shake for my son. We hadn’t eaten out in a while and while we’re avoiding “fast food” I thought this place isn’t terrible… they make their food fresh, the strips were always fresh, looked like they were hand dipped in house.
Not anymore. Today’s meal looked like generic frozen chicken and fries from a bag you can get at Walmart. Not even foster farms… they’re taking short cuts. I don’t blame them, the cost of food has risen and I feel that too.
But I just spent $80 and threw away most of it because it was inedible.
Is it too much to ask for a night off from cooking?!
I guess that is why I’m really ticked off about this.
Taco Bell’s fried chicken looks better than this, is cheaper and right down the road.
If this is your new direction, you’ve lost a customer. And you’ll lose more.
I would have appreciated a heads up about the change in chicken strips, maybe an update in the menu, these are NOT southern chicken strips… that’s offensive to those from the south.
Now I also had the 3 piece cod and sweet potatoes… the cod breading was batter, and I think it is made in-house, but it was not allowed to have the oil dripped off long enough before put into the to go box, pictures provided.
Clam chowder… definitely canned. So it was alright… very high in salt and low in clams. It was edible however, I could’ve opened up a can at home…
Seems like they’re still great for breakfast foods, I know when we came here before for brunch, we left happy and full… so maybe they just need to close early and be only a breakfast joint.

I always support local businesses when I can. I decided to treat myself to a dessert and was happy to see that Alan’s Country Cafe had carrot cake on their online menu. I ordered it online and went to pick it up and this is what I got. Super small and nothing like the picture on their website. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Especially for the price I paid, over $7 for this tiny slice.

Pretty damn good, got the eggs benedict and i have to say its the best ive had in washington state, the hashbrowns were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside i was a big fan, i also got an eggnog latte which was actually pretty good a bit bitter for my taste but thats what the creamer and sugar is for. My partner ordered fish and chips which was mostly good but ultimately bland a litlle bland. many staff aren’t native English speakers so minor misunderstandings happen but its never been a real issue and tye staff are friendly. Overall a great experience I’ll be back again

I used to order take out from this place about 4 years ago and the food was always good. I dined in two times in the last 3 months and was not happy either time. The first time, I chalked it up to staff being out or busy, so I gave a 2nd try and was sad about that. The photos on this page so not reflect the current offerings.
The cafe is cute, but when you walk in all you smell is cleaner- overpowering chemical smell. The wait staff seem unhappy to be there, not responsive and the wait time is very long- same woman took our orders both visits. Table of 3 and we waited more then 20 min to get our food, it could have been longer, but we all agreed it was a long wait and we considered leaving because the waitress ignored us for the entire time. There were three other tables eating, so not crowded at all. The food is very mehhh, and very expensive, with everything having an extra charge. The burgers are much better than the small sandwiches. The cost is high for the small sandwich on regular sliced loaf bread. I cannot recommend this place, and I wish I could, because I try to support local business, but the quality has gone down in the last few years for the dine in experience.

Other than freezing, it was great! Great food and great service. It was hit and miss for a short while. But it is now back to top-notch.
I really enjoy having a specialty coffee with my meal. Everything was really hot and fresh today, and our waitress was extremely attentive. The mushroom burger was great!
We will definitely return for either breakfast (served all day) or lunch.

I was in the mood for breakfast at 12:30 on a weekday and decided to try it out. I was surprised at how pleasant my visit was. It was warm and cozy with the fireplace going. The food was fresh and hot and flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back with a friend or my laptop. The decor and music are not personally my vibe but they are consistent with the country theme and are homey. And it was really nice to be able to have espresso drink options with my meal! Love that! My London fog was lovely. It has the feel of a family run place. They also have a drive through. (Note: There is a whole page of burgers on the menu that I forgot to take a photo of)

The sweetest little hidden gem. We stumbled across this restaurant while out doing grocery delivery work. The server was quiet but sweet and accommodating. The best part was the food though. It was clearly made with top quality ingredients that tasted like they just came from the farm and the sea!
