We ordered:
1. Sweet heat pineapple (added ricotta): 5/5 This was our favorite!! All the ingredients just came together so well, would highly recommend this!

2. Pestorrific: 3/5
This one was okay, the bacon was overpowering which made it a tad salty for our liking.

I was happy to see they had the option to do a vegan pizza with vegan cheese. You can also add vegan sausage or vegan pepperoni. We did a build your own pizza and added vegan cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers and garlic. The pizza was pretty good but tastes primarily like tomatoes and garlic so next time I’ll avoid adding those two and maybe get extra vegetables or vegan cheese.

For a late night take out join, it’s fine. They offer alternative options which is nice. Pizza is super expensive. I got a personal sized custom pizza with 3 toppings- came out to $28 for 2 slices. Crust was cooked nicely for my personal pizza, the other regular sized pizza had undercooked dough in the middle. Toppings are fine. Sauce is great. Overall, it did the job while I was looking for a late night eatery, but damn was it pricey. I don’t plan on coming back. Gotta pick up an extra shift now.

Pizza joint within the mission district area with quick-pick up options for square, thick crusted pizza. Although the appearance itself was very appetizing, the texture of the bread was pretty dry and did not feel high quality. The toppings were slightly excessive and drowned out the integral pizza ingredients including the cheese and sauce. The price did not equate to the quality or quantity of the pizza and the staff did not understand I had just wanted one of each pizza type, so they ended up charging me more than I had wanted. The environment is more accustomed for take out. No gluten free options.

Joyride Pizza on Valencia Street is a must-visit gem for anyone craving a slice of something bold, fresh, and deeply satisfying. Specializing in Detroit-style pizza, this spot stands out with its crispy-edged, thick yet airy crusts and vibrant, creative toppings. The moment you walk by, the display case catches your eye with colorful, square-cut pies that look as good as they taste.

What makes Joyride special is the quality and variety. Whether you’re a meat lover, vegetarian, or somewhere in between, they’ve got a square for you. Classics like pepperoni and sausage are stacked with flavor, while options like “The Sweet” with ricotta and basil, or the veggie-loaded “Shrooms” offer a gourmet twist that hits the spot. Every slice is a mini meal — rich, chewy, crispy, and made with care.

Service is friendly and fast, and the ambiance is casual and bright. With plenty of natural light and outdoor vibes from the big glass windows, it’s a great spot to pop in for lunch or a quick dinner. Prices are fair considering the portion sizes, and you can mix and match slices to your heart’s content.

If you’re in the Mission and looking for Detroit-style done right, Joyride Pizza is an easy win. Highly recommended.

My friend and I had gone to a different restaurant and crossed this pizza place. I caught the whiff of this amazing smelling pizza and immediately checked the name of the place and the display in the window. The rectangular thick crust (later found out that it was focaccia crust) with beautiful and delicious looking toppings – right away, it was decided that I will grab some on the way back and take it home.

The place has more than 1 vegetarian option which is a big win for all the vegetarians out there. You can order through a digital kiosk. I tried the ‘eat your veggies’ and ‘green goddess’ pizza. Both were very interesting and unique with their toppings and taste. I want to try their ‘sweet heat pineapple’ but without the pepperoncini. I also tried the garlic knots but wasn’t that impressed by them. But will definitely recommend to go here and have it fresh. I intend to do that next.

Total rip off! Spent $80.00 and only got 2 little boxes of pizzas. Do not patronize this place. Dough is dry, sauce is bland, and the meat is not of good quality. You will leave there feeling like you’ve been robbed!

Joyride Pizza is good as hell!!!! I would never spend full price on it but I have a “hack” which makes it MUCH cheaper and therefore an INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS AND AMAZING EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME!!!
The dessert pizza with jam is absolutely revolting, but every other pizza I’ve had is a work of art- especially the sausage pesto mushroom, the sweet heat, and good ol’-fashioned ‘roni! Pepperyoni

What happened Joyride ? This is not the pizza I remember from the year you first opened, but a sadder version of your former self. The quality seemed to have taken a dive and the dough is not as thick and seemed undercooked. The cheese and flavor also tasted off.

Im from the Detroit Area, so the bar for me is going to be high right out the gate. The pizza at Joy Ride is very esthetically pleasing for a social media post but im not sure it’s worth the photo. One slice of pizza will cost you over 12 dollars, its cut in two halves but in my opinion that’s still pricey. I got the veggie slice and it just was ok. There was nothing special about it except the roasted tomatoes.

Everything else about it was just aight. Maybe the next I ll try a different type of pie or try to catch them when the pizzas come straight out of the oven.
