This is the renowed Boyd Wurthmann Restaurant located in the heart of Belin Ohio SR 39 in Holmes County Ohio. Wife and i hit this place a couple of times with each visit. Food is amazing especially the deserts and those Friday & Saturday night Specials/ I believe they close early around 2 or so most days but on those Fridays and Saturday they stay open until 7 pm. Friday specials include a Prime Rib Dinner Cooked to order for 26.99 with 2 sides and a Rib dinner special for 16.99 at the time of this posting September 2025. With the ribs special for 18.99 you can eat all you care to for $ 2.00 more…. Expect to wait in line with each visit due to the popularity of this place. With each bowl of soup they add at no charge a chunk of Guggisberg Baby Swiss to boot. They have a great staff that is friendly and happy to accommodate your food request. They have a huge menu. Spring and fall offers a best chance to grab a bite without the long wait. Be sure to grab a Friday or Saturday night specialty dinner as well as the regular menu items. Ladies, save room for the Dutch Apple Pie Alamode, or one of their many other specialty deserts. Enjoy our photos.

Amazing food and amazing service! No wonder there is always a line to eat here. We had breakfast here and took a cinnamon roll and different flavor pies back home with us. Everything was so good!

Came to Berlin and found this place and we were never so grateful. We ordered a Bowl of Chili as an appetiser, along with the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Country Fried Steak with Fries and Mashed Potatoes on the side, and Boyd’s (Signature) Sandwich / Berger. Everything was well balanced in flavoured and the food portion / size was larger than the average item found upstate. But the price was significantly less than what is usually $20 prices or more in other areas. I deeply appreciate the service and environment gives from Boyd & Wurthmann’s and I hope to come back here some time with others.

Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant is a small, local restaurant sporting a rustic Americana/North Appalachian/50s diner aesthetic (a bit odd, but it works).

Boyd & Wurthmann has a pretty typical diner fare, and is particularly known for their homemade-style meats, breads, and desserts. I have been here several times, and each time was very good. The area (Berlin) itself is quite out of the way, but if you’re already in the area or just passing through, I highly recommend a visit.

The restaurant is cash only, so come prepared for that. It has limited hours and nearly always has a line, so make sure you leave enough time to wait.

Me & the wife always stop here when we are visiting Amish Country in Holmes County. The food is always top notch so be prepared to wait in line if you come here, especially on a Saturday. Our meal today was excellent. I highly recommend the fried pickles and onion chips for an appetizer. The special that I had was the smothered chicken and mash potatoes. The wife had the pot roast & mashed potatoes. The mash potatoes were definitely homemade like the majority of their food at the restaurant and delicious. I have had most of the homemade pies at the restaurant, but my favorites are the pecan, banana cream, & peanut butter.

I can see why this place has so many reviews. We were literally waiting outside to get it. During their off season. Took us roughly 15 minutes of waiting to be seated. The service was wonderful, place was absolutely packed full. And our food still came pretty quickly. Honestly one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had and the fries in their ranch sauce was incredible! For sure want to come back just make sure you bring cash because they don’t take card. Also their honor cake was amazing! Highly recommend!!!

Leah was our server. This place runs like a well oiled machine. Very busy on Labor Day. Line was out the door. Our wait time may have been 10 mins. Thank you to the cooks and staff, keep up the great work and delicious breakfast!

If you go to Berlin, you MUST go to breakfast at Boyd and Wurthmann’s! It really is where the locals eat. You will have to wait in line, but don’t good things come to those who wait?! It’s one of those good, old Midwestern diners you wish you lived closer to. We went twice in one trip—once for a breakfast date and once for dinner with the whole family. The roast beef and mashed potatoes are delicious! The “big wreck” almost wrecked my husband. Pretend it’s 1985 and you know your neighbors and talk to your family. You’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time to a better era!

The atmosphere was just like a cozy diner experience, but the food was outstanding! All the servers were super friendly and attentive. My wife had a smothered chicken which was on special and she raved about it. I had the country fried steak and it was the best I have had. All their sides were delicious and don’t forget to get a piece of pie!
