Lively hot spot for Dominican fare, including a variety of mofongo, plus cocktails & live music.

My wife and I shared the most delicious seafood paella we’ve ever had from this place! It was a portion big enough to not only share for dinner, but have leftovers too. It had a good amount of different seafoods – crab, scallops, clams, mussels, and shrimp. We also had to get a side of the fried plantains, which are addicting as hell. This is a solid Washington Heights restaurant that you should definitely stop in to eat at!

Went for a late lunch in February 2026. Mofongo special was incredible, and each bite tasted better than the one before it. Wait staff was excellent, atmosphere was welcoming and fun. I even enjoyed the music. Would definitely go again.

This delivery was everything I wanted. The food arrived still hot, smelled amazing, and tasted even better. The mofongo had that rich, garlicky flavor and the meat was juicy and well-seasoned with a great bite. Portions were generous and the packaging kept everything together without getting soggy. If you want a satisfying, flavorful meal—this is the spot.

Always enjoy stopping by the mofongo house, good music, good food and cold beers! This time a tried a mixed drink and had mixed feelings on it so i won’t add that one in truly.
Had the chicharron de pollo sin hueso natural(bo breading) maduros on the side the rest of the table ordered different dishes but we all enjoyed everything!.
The music is always banging the ambient and the people. i’ve been lucky every time i go its been an incredible visit for me!
Def a stop to make in the heights whenever I’m in NYC!

I ordered the Mofongo con chicharrón and a limonada and it was fantastic. The chicharrón was well seasoned and crunchy with decent amounts of fat that melted in your mouth. The Mofongo was fresh and savory served with a garlic butter. They even brought to the table slices of toasted garlic bread that was perfectly crispy and garlicky. And the limonada was slightly tart and not too sweet similar to how my mother used to make. This is a place where you can get a fantastic meal with great service and atmosphere and I would recommend this place to anyone that’s passing through, like I was, or visiting. I hope La Casa del Mofongo keep being consistent and keep delivering great food for everyone in the area.

The ladies at the front counter were friendly and welcoming, which made my initial experience pleasant. However, my encounter with the man who was responsible for preparing the chicken left me feeling quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name, but I saw him working on Saturday morning. He appeared to have a hostile attitude, which was completely unexpected. His rudeness made me hesitant to purchase any chicken, as I didn’t want to deal with his unpleasant demeanor. It was disappointing because the overall atmosphere could have been much more enjoyable without that negative interaction.

The restaurant is nice and very presentable. Food did take a while to come. Waitresses are on their phone a lot which is something I noticed.

Place have good customer services , haven’t been there in a couple of years and went there was very pricey on my opinion, you shouldn’t have to be paying $20 plus for a plate and they already add tips to your bill, but overall was ok.

When you’re in the Heights you just have to stop here. Came for an early dinner. Seated almost immediately. Our server was attentive and very nice. We ordered a variety of different dishes. I actually tried the monfongo with chicharrón. Pretty tasty. Very filling, I couldn’t finish the entire meal. We also had the chuletas, camarones al ajillo, churrasco and arroz con pollo. Overall great food.

Our “new server” was great. We knew he was new, he took our order and repeated it. The bartender bought us our drinks and asked if we placed our order we said yes. After that everything was downhill. The food was bland and they forgot the easiest thing 2 sides of rice and beans. When we told them after a while maybe 30 minutes they decided to blame the “new guy” so I asked where he was as he disappeared after taking iur order. He was sent to so something else. I then asked so who was taking his spot? No answer we asked to remove the rice and pay to leave. They wanted to get people and point fingers. Our server the “new guy” did just fine it’s the other senior people who pulled him off his duty that are to blame and to tell your customers he is new is low. He did what he was told. Next time a newer team member is training someone should be with them and in the case they make a mistake it happens that should not be the first thing management says, make it right and stop looking to blame. Had they apologized and went to get our rice and beans it would’ve been ok but horrible customer recovery skills by your senior staff. Menu is overpriced for quality.
