If your in the San Carlos/Lake Murray area this is hands down the best Mexican food in the area! Big portions and extremely affordable prices! I believe they also have $1.75 street tacos (Your choice of meat) on Tuesdays & Thursday if I’m not mistaken! Can get pretty busy but we’ll worth the wait!!!

FOUR stars. The food here is great! Some of the best carne asada fries in the county. HOWEVER, these people constantly screw up our order. They’ll acknowledge what we order, get clarification, even repeat the order back. But somehow almost every time something ends up wrong. Wrong kind of tacos… Different combo than was ordered. We ordered an omelette? They gave burritos and insisted that was what was ordered.

I grew up on Rosarito’s burritos, hot sauce, and their Special Number 4 (which has ALWAYS been a great deal). Since my first taste of their delicious food, at least 30 years ago now, I knew I’d keep coming back. Now I live in northern CA, and any time I’m within 100 miles of this home town gem, I feast and then order a bunch of bean and cheese burritos to bring back for my friends and family who know just how delicious SoCal Mexican food cooked with manteca can be. It’s a no frills serving area, but has come a long way from their yellow Formica booths, and they now have nice tables and chairs. Call in your order ahead of time and avoid the wait during the dinner hour. If you live nearby, I’m jealous, because you get to enjoy Rosarito’s on the regular.

The woman at the counter was VERY rude. I was trying to place my order and she kept yelling “what” and then would turn around to talk to her coworker in Spanish and laugh. Then turn back around yelling “what” again. I continued to remain calm because I had my son with me. I will NEVER EVER spend my money at this place.
