We love this place. Great and endlessly fascinating interior architecture and design. The art exhibits are incredibly entertaining. The music is world-class. The drinks — both cocktails and mocktails — are first-rate. More than anything, the food is just staggeringly delicious. Wonderful ingredients, inspired and masterful preparation, and great variety. The depth and richness of this small-plates experience causes one to forget that everything on the menu is plant-based. How do they do that? And, oh yes, the owners are always in residence and, notably, in the kitchen and behind the bar. Their pride and passion in making The Knock a destination worthy of a journey shows in everything you see, hear, and taste. The North Country is very lucky that they decided to come to Westport.

Catherine and Taylor have created a space that is truly worthy of admiration. From the moment you step inside, it feels like entering another world—there’s a big-city sophistication to the ambiance, food, and drinks, paired beautifully with the warmth and hospitality of a close-knit community. You’re always greeted with a smile, the food is consistently exceptional, and Sadie’s drinks are unlike anything else in the area. The live music performances and stand-up comedy nights only add to the magic, each one is a joy to attend. This is a place that feels both exciting and welcoming, and it never disappoints.

We are summer residents of Westport and have been to The Knock many times for music performances or just for cocktails with friends. We’ve always had a wonderful time and enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the cocktails (thanks, Sadie) and the food (thanks, Taylor and Catherine). They are an asset to Westport and we appreciate all they’ve brought to the town.

As a vegetarian I was so excited to find a local restaurant with real plant based options. My husband was skeptical about trying it as he is a meat eater but he was so surprised how much he enjoyed his dinner. He got the black bean tacos and loved the flavors, I got the mushroom scallops and we were mind blown how delicious everything was. We will definitely visit for dinner again. Looking forward to healthy and delicious food? – visit the Knock!!!

Knock is what happens when competent adults open a restaurant. Sadie behind the bar makes drinks that know their purpose, the salad is actually great, and the vegetarian food is excellent without trying to prove a point. The atmosphere is calm, confident, and unfussy—like everyone involved understands the assignment and executes it well. I will be back.

If you want an artistic, original, city-like experience (with great vegan and drink options), stepping into The Knock is like stepping out of Westport into a new place entirely. No detail is spared in this special venue that is both great date night and kid-friendly options. Support local! And don’t miss the art!

What an absolute gem! We heard about this place but were skeptical to go inside. Once we did, we couldn’t believe what we were missing. The art installations were cool – but walking into the hidden bar was the best. The decor, the atmosphere – chef’s kiss! Sadie, the mixologist, made us the most delicious cocktails. The food was fab, the beer list was too. We will be back!

We were SO excited to stumble across this hidden gem! We were traveling through the area for one night & many of the restaurants in the area seasonal so were closed. We saw this “speakeasy” pop up as an option, and weren’t sure what to expect. The service, food & drinks & atmosphere were all amazing. Great concept in a really unique space.

A truly unique and incredible experience right in Westport. So far I have visited The Knock two times but I am eagerly awaiting the next time I am in town to visit again. This place offers wonderful drinks and amazing food. Walking in through the art and then through the door and through the hall you feel transported almost. The decor and atmosphere are special for sure. There is a nice variety of food options as well. It’s best if you bring people to share as every dish is great and everyone in our group loved trying a bit of everything. The kale Cesar especially was a huge hit and I hope it (or a similar salad stay around. Overall highly recommend trying The Knock, and I will always make it a point to visit when I am in town and may make a long trip just to go there by itself.
