We stopped here while driving through Tacoma on a rainy morning to look at properties, and we’re so glad we did. We originally noticed an IHOP and a Denny’s nearby, but Elmer’s caught our eye—and it turned out to be a great decision.
The menu was excellent. I ordered a German pancake with lingonberries (they explained it’s similar to a cranberry and raspberry combined), and it was absolutely delicious. I also had the potato pancakes, which were wonderful. Ray ordered the avocado Benedict and said his eggs Benedict was great. The coffee was good and comforting.
The atmosphere really stood out—fireplaces inside made it warm and cozy, which was perfect coming in from the rain. Our server, Kyle T., was amazing—very knowledgeable, helped guide me with my order, and made the whole experience even better.
If we lived in the area, this would definitely be a regular breakfast spot for us. Highly recommend.

Elmer’s was alright.
They use real prime rib for their dip sandwich, which I genuinely appreciate. In theory, that should elevate the whole experience. Unfortunately, the flavor just didn’t quite land. It wasn’t bad; it just felt muted, especially considering the quality they aimed for.
My husband felt similarly about his breakfast platter. It was well-prepared and perfectly fine, but nothing stood out enough to make us crave a return trip.

First time guest and was extremely thrilled by the service and customer care. Brennan was our server and you can tell that he really enjoys his work. The food was fresh,tasty and as per the photos. Will definitely visit it again with my husband since both of us cleared our plates and ordered some to go. Will be returning sooner than later .

This restaurant offers delicious food and excellent customer service. The standout dish is the strawberry fresh toast, which is among the best I have ever tasted. It is one of the few establishments that consistently delivers a great customer service experience, and their breakfast servings are notably generous in size.

We enjoy going to Elmer’s on the weekends for breakfast. Our favorite waitress, Corey, is always friendly and provides great service . She knows us so well that she’ll bring our coffee, creamer and Splenda before we even have time to look over the menu . Today my husband had the German pancake with strawberries and I had my favorite the lingonberry crepes.

Great ambience, the food was great. I would have liked pancakes along with omelettes as a standard.But I liked the ambience, felt very spacious and the service people were polite and gracious.
Definitely recommend anyone driving through Tacoma to try out this diner
There are Tesla chargers in the parking lot which is what led me to the restaurant. This is definitely the place to charge your Tesla while driving to and from rainier

First time eating at an Elmer’s, and we really enjoyed our breakfast. There are plenty of dishes to choose from. I had the avacado eggs Benedict. It was absolutely delicious. My husband had eggs, ham, bacon, sausage abs home fries. He, too, enjoyed the meal.
