I haven’t eaten here in over 10 years because it’s one of those quiet Hometown restaurants tucked away downtown. We stopped eating out as much also but a friend gave out gift cards for local businesses for Christmas which I will start doing also, it helps everyone!
It took a little while to get our food but it was worth the wait. The chips and salsa are $4 but the green salsa is addicting, it was so good. My tacos were so full of shredded beef, I could only finish two of three. They were very good as well as the rice and beans.
My husband ordered an omelet and really enjoyed it. The fried potatoes are home-cooked style like my mom used to make, so I keep stealing a few bites.
All in all, the food is home cooked style with good portions and worth the wait. We will definitely be back to this little gem!

I’ve only been here two times but the food is great and service is even better. Their pancakes are huge and I love their salsa. Their restaurant is very clean and I like to go there for breakfast.

Super cute place! Friendly servers, and really good food!! I had ham, eggs, potatoes with a tortilla. It was very tasty. It’s $4 extra for chips and salsa, but it’s worth it. The salsa also paired really well with the the breakfast. Just be aware it is a small kitchen, so there may be a wait to be seated. I did see 3 different parties come in and leave after seeing sign that stated 35 min wait. The hostess should have explained why there was a wait. She seemed busy doing homework or something.

If you like your refried beans chewy and bland, then you’ll love El Coronado. Quite literally the worst refried beans I’ve ever eaten, and I eat refried beans all the time. In fact, I was planning on ordering a bean and cheese chimichanga for breakfast, which would’ve been my sixth chimi of the week. I know, I’ve got a problem, but step one is admitting it, right?

Anyway, I asked if the chimichanga came with a side of rice and beans. “Nope.” Uh, okay that’s fine. Does it come with all the fixings? Lettuce, pico, guac, and sour cream? “Nope. Just the chimi.” I hard passed on that sorry excuse for a chimichanga. 0 out of 13 score on the universal scale of chimichanga deliciousness. Do better, y’all. That’s pathetic.

Almost as pathetic as those refried beans I was telling you about earlier. I had to mix them with the canned enchilada sauces on my breakfast enchilada plate just to get them to go down.

The food fed me; and that’s all I have to say about that. We waited 45 minutes for the kitchen to get their act together. And the restaurant was maybe at 30% capacity. Sorry to say, not worth the wait.

Our server was great, though. Super sweet and accommodating. But she should consider finding a better restaurant. Don’t be enticed by the cute and inviting decor of El Coronado, or the fact that they have “Family” in their name. This restaurant is a bust.

Chewy refried beans, man. They were chewy!

Delicious every time! You can’t go wrong with this place, it’s always amazing. The servers are so sweet and are attentive

Huevos rancheros is a must! They have great salsa. You can taste the love in the food.

My family always love coming here. They do charge for chips and salads now but I guess you can blame them because of inflation.

Brunch at 9:30, so the wait that others complained about didn’t happen. My huevos rancheros were the bomb for a measly $10. I’ll be back! My server was super sweet.

I’m a foodie critic and nobody is perfect at serving the best food. I did find the beans on my plate delicious and it reminded me of my mom’s beans. I will continue to eat here for tostadas and bean burro and yes I’ll stop by from time to time. Could your place use more to offer the customers a huge yes. And here is why. You’re selling chips and salsa at $4.00. I eat at other restaurants and they offer “free chips and salsa”. Come on now. To get regular customers you must offer a free “chips n salsa” Some places even bring you a refill if requested. Our town’s people deserve it. Your waitress was kind, and enjoyed her job it was easy to see that., Thank you for being here to support the community.
