Most places exaggerate when they claim to be “Number 1” at something. Well— this place actually is. This is definitely top tier tacos & Mexican taqueria. The vibe & environment is lit & exciting. You can tell people are happy to eat here. The meats are so tender & juicy, the salsas are flavorful & come with a little kick. The aguas frescas are perfect for a refreshment. Oh— and they HAND MAKE RHE TORTILLAS, both flour & corn. If there was one little detail I might change is adding seating, because they have tables, but it’s standing room only. I accept that due to high buzz popularity it just works better for them this way, but as a lazy patron I prefer to sit lol. Anyway— amazing place!

From the moment I walked into Los Tacos No.1, the experience was amazing. Jairo greeted us right away and made sure we understood how everything worked, which made us feel very welcome. Yulder took our order and was super friendly and efficient.
The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The service was top-notch and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. They have a salsa bar that goes well with the tacos …Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommended! More than a 5 ⭐️ restaurant

Definitely the best Tacos ive ever had we have nothing like this place in the UK, after a lot of recommendations came to try it today and definitely will be back before I head back I tried one of each chicken, steak and pork they were all 5/5 and to go with it had a Mexican Coca cola which was real good too. If your in NYC definitely come down to Los Tacos and give it a try.

Best tacos I’ve ever had. HIGHLY recommend. It’s a casual dining spot so only standing tables to quickly eat at, but so worth it. The steak carne asada and marinated pork with pineapple was so delicious and flavorful. They don’t skimp on the meat too thankfully!

I visited this restaurant and had a genuinely great experience, not only because of the incredible flavours, but also thanks to the friendly and attentive service. When we arrived, there was a line and the place was packed. There are no seats, so people usually stand, eat, and leave, which keeps the flow moving quickly.

We ordered tacos and quesadillas (pork and chicken), and everything was delicious. The portion sizes were generous, 3 tacos and 2 quesadillas were enough for two people. The tortillas taste fresh, and you can customize the heat level with different salsa options depending on how spicy you like it.

I was impressed by how clean and well-organized the space was. Staff members constantly walk around clearing tables and keeping everything tidy. One of the employees even came over to check how we were doing, offered water, and kindly brought us a small complimentary item to try, which made the experience feel extra thoughtful.

If you love delicious, authentic-style Mexican food at a fair price, and don’t mind standing, this spot is totally worth it. The fast service, great flavours, and warm hospitality make Los Tacos No. 1 a must-visit in NYC.

Best tacos in NY, the line may look long but the service is SO fast, super cute and friendly cooks, perfect and classic Mexican tacos. The meat is seasoned well and the toppings are exactly what they should be no crazy American twists. Never change xoxo

Was curious for a while to finally give this place a try.

The line gets long quick but moves very quick and once you order there someone to direct you so you know who is available to make your food.

Staff were super friendly, went I sat I was offered some tap water and a free side of grilled vegetables which I thought was really nice.

Very close to grand central so trains are nearby.

I had the marinated pork corn taco (adobada) and the marinated pork tostada. They have a station for toppings which is nice and you can add lime at the time you pick up your order. Standing room only but they have tables so you can eat while standing, if you squeeze under the table by the window, there’s a window ledge you can sit on, but it’s not easy and won’t be accessible for everyone of any size/mobility.

The taco was nice, I like that you can choose corn or flour tortilla. The pork was decently tasty, not too much fat and had a very nice char which I enjoyed. The portion size is nice, two orders were plenty for me. But I must say I’ve had tastier pork tacos (Al pastor).

I was not a fan of the tostada shell itself, very dry and tasteless, could use a good pinch of salt to start with. I’ve never had such a bitter tasting tostada. Maybe that’s the way it’s made traditionally, but if I return I’d stick to the tacos.

I added the mild salsa and radish before taking the picture, I took some green salsa on the side. The salsas are wonderful- flavorful and chunky.

The atmosphere is nice, the staff keeps it clean and I think it’s great that they offer água fresca which looked great, just not willing to spend 5 dollars for a cup. Tacos were decently priced at about 6 bucks each.

Disappointed that this location does not offer margaritas, I think that would’ve went well with the tacos. I was looking forward to it but honestly completely forgot about it while I was there, since I was mostly focused on getting tacos. It appears the other locations offer it.

Overall, decent tacos at a decent price with lots of options to customize it to your liking. I recommend.

Despite the rush, the staff is quick, friendly, and super efficient. Simple, fast, and absolutely delicious — a must-visit for taco lovers.

I am originally from the West Coast, so exposure to out-of-this-world tacos is woven into my DNA.

Los Tacos No. 1 is, generally speaking, very average. I’ve had better tacos from random street carts.

That said, I know I need to grade on a curve here because the taco game on the East Coast is generally not great.

On a NY curve, sure, they are above average—maybe even the best I’ve found here—but that’s like being prom queen at summer school.

Great place for street tacos! I love street tacos, but living in Oahu, there isn’t a lot of great Mexican food here. So I have to get my street taco fix whenever I’m travelling.

I’ve been lucky enough to hit up some great taco places during my travels, and Los Tacos really hit the spot! I was surprised how good it was.

Prices are good and service is fast. The line moves at a good pace.
