The atmosphere was elegant yet inviting. The dining areas maintain a personal feel even other are generally open to the more lively bar and oyster bar areas where you can also catch live sports for a more casual experience.
Our waitress was very kind and working hard to take care of us and her other guests. The prices were very fair to the quality provided, we definitely recommend Lure and will be back again!
PS – forgot to mention the delicious bread!!
4 Aug 2025 review: Always great. Luca at the bar very personable. Oysters were great. Ciopinno always great. Key lime pie fantastic (like tartness and less cheesecake like than others, and a nicely crumbling crust; a Luca recommendation). Will be coming back again.
We really liked the following:
Charbroiled oysters
Pacific white sea bass (wifey liked it a lot. I thought it was okay, but I liked the sides better)
Cioppino
Average dishes:
Crab cakes
Crispy calamari
Room for improvement:
The spicy seafood ceviche was not very spicy and I thought something was lacking.
The linguine with clams lacked flavor and seasoning. I was very tempted to just dump the linguine in the Cioppino sauce.
We finished every dish and looked at the dessert menu for a bit before deciding not to have any. Brother-in-law had a watermelon mojito that he enjoyed. I got a draft IPA and I was satisfied too. Pretty good overall experience so I would certainly go back
The clam chowder was exceptional, the creaminess and consistency of the chowder was perfect, the potatoes and bits of clam were cooked so that they added great depth to the chowder.
However, the fish and chips fell short of my expectations, especially on how well the clam chowder was prepared and served.
The fries had an off flavor to them, I couldn’t quite figure out why or what it was. And the fish carried a lot of oil with it, so it had a slightly oily flavor that I was not expecting. I’ve had fish and chips at other places, and have not had this issue. The ambience and the service was spectacular.
Took my sister and my mother out for her birthday last night and had an amazing experience thanks to Ace our lovely server. She was so kind and helpful with our cocktails , appetizers, main course and above and beyond all wonderful birthday desserts with a candle . Casey one of the managers who came to the table to make sure we were having a wonderful dinner ️ experience was so nice and welcoming.
I am already very much looking forward to my next visit with some friends and sitting at the oyster bar to enjoy a sunny warm California afternoon.
We ordered the Santa Rosa Tower and everything was so good , the oysters from nearby Morro Bay were yum!
We will be returning to try the rest of the menu
This new store has very nice decor and ambiance. The seafood is fresh and delicious.
The free bread is baked fresh, served warm with butter.
We had the Miso Sea Bass Skewer for starter. We love the Lure Cioppino so much that we ordered 2 servings.
Lure Fish House is my favorite seafood place in the greater LA area. So glad that they have it in SLO too now.
