Serendipidous
Casual floating bar, live music, friendly staff, reasonable prices, festive people. Large boats docked around bar and marina, on a beautiful lake. Nice spot for a sunset view. Can scantly see downtown Des Moines in the distance on a clear day. Did not try bar food other than french fry nachos. Narowly escaped thunderstorm!

Best bar in Des Moines area. Extraordinary service from very friendly staff. Top-notch bar food with live entertainment on a floating dock surrounded by water and boats.

My fav summer stop on the Lake, food is okay and perhaps a bit pricey but hey it’s the only bar and grill in the lake..drinks are cold, cant complain there. Boat gas, ice, and whatnot can be bought at the lil marine supply store there on the water. The staff is amazing, had engine trouble one day and the nice bar manager let me leave the boat moored up overnight

Great atmosphere, extremely busy on nice days but If you can snag a table or seat at the bar it’s worth hanging out for a drink. Live music or DJ on most weekends.

Great location on the lake. Usually have some great bands play. Lively crowd on the weekends. Food is okay. Drinks are pretty good and the drink menu has some tasty choices. Best thing about this place is being on the water and socializing with friends.

Latitude offers a very specific ambiance. It’s fun and all but the mixed drinks are mediocre as is the service. It serves a purpose of being a fun place for adults to hang out before or after boating but that’s about it. It’s kind of like the bar you go to after you’ve already had a few drinks. Expectations are down, you’re just there for a chair and some conversation.

We ordered a bunch of appetizers which weren’t bad. The cheese balls are good as are the nachos. You’d expect a lot more for the price but it’s not too bad.

From the meals we’ve had there, they have been tasty but far from filling. I would recommend apps and a few drinks and then eat dinner somewhere else or bring something to eat with on the boat.

Service is ridiculously slow. The whole Marina, chairs, benches, bar area was dirty. Food took a good 40 minutes to get, and it was just a burger and a chicken sandwich. This place sucks. Server was rude and didn’t serve us. I don’t recommend this Marina/bar to anyone. I feel like the service was poor, at least partly because I’m part of the LGBTQ community.

Food is subpar, drinks are OK, service was extremely slow, but the location is fantastic. I would guess the place is poorly managed as friendly staff looked helpless to improve their situation. Food was not good despite a decent alcohol buzz, but it was edible. It seems the kitchen size creates constraints (this is compounded when the restaurant is busy). Drinks weren’t great, either, and they came out extremely slow.

In general, its the only place on the block, so if you want to be on the water and have a meal (albeit a questionable one), you have no choice but to go here. The area could use more restaurants to provide competition.
