Great service and friendly staff! The manager was very attentive to each guest—I was greeted more than once during my dinner, which made me feel truly welcome. Don’t make the mistake of leaving without ordering dessert! I had a wonderful, creamy flan to finish off my dinner. For appetizers, I started with chips and guacamole, then treated myself to two main dishes — the enchiladas and the tamale plate. Couldnt pass the opportunity to have tamales. Both were absolutely delicious!

Never had a bad meal at Cactus! Food is delicious and menu provides a huge variety of options both food and drink. Proportions are reasonable and serve just the right amount of food. Restaurant interior is beautiful and place is clean and has a big seating set up. This restaurant offers seasonal specials which is unique and is a fun edition to the menus as change is good for guests and allows for new food expansions and potential favorites. This restaurant is personally an any season favorite as the food and menu never disappoints. Definitely recommend!

We absolutely loved our first experience at this restaurant!
It was on Labor Day Monday, so things were a little slower—we got lucky and were seated right away.

The vibe was great: stylish, relaxed, and very clean. Our server (I believe his name was Oscar) was fantastic—knowledgeable about the menu, attentive, kind, big smile and overall wonderful.

And the food? Absolutely fire.

We live close by and regret discovering this place so late. We immediately added it to our “Loved” spots on the map and will definitely be back again!

Went out for lunch while in Seattle and decided to visit this place as it seemed to have a good vibe.

Nice atmosphere, busy and live, lots of people seemed to be having a good time.

Their quac, salsa and chips were fresh and the guac was pretty good. Also had a side of fresh flour tortillas which were homemade and warm.

Ordered the shrimp and brisket tacos. All were fresh with a good choice of ingredients and good corn tortillas.

Finished it with their flan, which was the best part of lunch. I have had a good amount of flan in Florida and this was on par.

Overall good food and on par with other Texmex style restaurants and the service was average overall, but they got us out fairly quick during lunch rush. Will return in the future.

All of the staff were amazing, but unfortunately, the food was not good. This is not authentic or high-quality Mexican food. Serving rice and beans with tacos is unusual, and the food itself was completely flavorless. I’m sure they use canned beans. There are many other excellent Mexican restaurants nearby if you’re looking for real, good Mexican cuisine.

This place looked great and the food was pretty good, but the service was horrible. I don’t know if it’s because they’re understaffed, but we had to wait so long for our server. We noticed they were serving several other tables as well and that may have contributed. We literally had to flag them down three times to get their attention. One to order, another time due to an incorrect order and a third time to get our check. I ordered the street tacos and they tasted pretty good, although one of them was filled with fat. Fortunately they apologized and brought us another. On a positive note, I don’t remember the name of the dish, but it was the appetizer and was the fried squash with cheese in it. This dish was amazing! I would totally go back and order this again. Truly the best item on the menu. Hopefully this place can pull it together and hire more help and be more responsive. Overall, the place looks nice and was relatively clean with a good layout of tables and inside and out.

The food here was SO good. Service was also very good! Prices felt a little high, but seem like they might be average for the area. There were lots of locals stopping in for takeout, which seems like a good sign.

We tried the queso dip, Baja fish tacos, and seafood enchilada. All excellent. The manager brought us a Cuban flan dessert to try since it was our first visit. Also good but we were so full we may not have fully appreciated it

Margaritas were good but not anything super special.

Would absolutely go back if we’re in the neighborhood again! Highly recommend, and the area is super walkable if you’re staying nearby.

I come here anytime I am visiting Seattle. I dream about their sweet potato goat cheese enchiladas. So full of flavor. All my favorites in one dish. Perfect spice level. Prickly pear mocktail also delicious

Upscale Mexican spot in the heart of Seattle—good food, but prepare for the price tag.
I recently visited Cactus, a modern Mexican restaurant that’s popular with the downtown Seattle crowd—especially Amazon employees working nearby. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars because while the food and drinks are well-crafted, the pricing and automatic gratuity policy can make the bill feel heavier than expected.

Ambiance: 4.5/5
The restaurant has a vibrant, modern vibe with stylish decor and a lively energy—especially during peak hours. It’s clearly designed to attract the after-work crowd and weekend diners alike. Be aware that it can get pretty packed, so I recommend making a reservation if you’re going during lunch or dinner rush.

Authenticity: 4/5
Cactus leans more toward modern Mexican fusion than traditional recipes, but the flavors are well-balanced and thoughtfully prepared. You won’t find ultra-traditional dishes here, but the kitchen does a great job of elevating Mexican staples with a creative twist.

Flavor: 4.5/5
Every dish we tried was solid. Fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and well-executed cooking all around. Their taco platters and enchiladas were especially impressive, and they have a strong cocktail list to match. It’s clear they care about flavor and presentation.

Cost: 3.5/5
This is where things start to dip. The prices are on the higher side, and when you’re dining with a large group, they automatically add a 20% gratuity. With food and drink costs already higher than average, the total can quickly add up. While I respect tipping, I prefer when it’s optional based on service quality—not automatic.

Service: 4/5
The staff are efficient and friendly, despite how busy the place gets. That said, wait times can be long during peak hours, and you might end up waiting even with a reservation. Still, the team handles the volume well overall.

Final Verdict: 4/5
If you’re in downtown Seattle looking for flavorful modern Mexican food in a trendy setting, Cactus is a dependable choice. Just go in knowing that it’s a bit pricey, and the automatic gratuity might catch you off guard. Good food, good drinks—just bring a full wallet.

We had the BEST lunch today with our family at Cactus! From the warm greeting from the manager upon entering to the super attentive waitress and incredible food and drinks we had a great experience! It was also so great to have validated parking and easy access to the restaurant with the parking garage. We even had complimentary flan as a thank you for being first time visitors. We really have no complaints and our kids devoured the chips and quesadillas! My personal faves were the margaritas (both the skinny and house margs were delicious!) and the chorizo enchiladas. We will definitely be back!
