We came to GCC to gamble and decided we give Acorn cafe another chance again today and it was just the same as before maybe worst. The service was slow and horrible. My husband ordered the NY steak & eggs. Med rare steak and over easy eggs. When the food came out and dropped off my husband cut right into the steak and it was over cooked.
We couldn’t find our server so his steak sat until she came over. He asked if they can remake the steak in which the server did take back to get it remade. The amount of time it took them to remake his steak, I had finished my meal. Finally Kyla the server bought out the steak and my husband said he didn’t want it anymore because I had already finished my meal. She did asked if he wanted it boxed up, but he said no because we had other plans and the steak would just be sitting in the box. With an attitude she stormed off. Didn’t even apologize for the wait or anything, just very rude and very disrespectful. We asked to speak to the manager, I believe his name was Michael, he himself was just as rude and very unprofessional. He did give us a discount and proceeded to say “I’m sure you won’t leave a tip, so go ahead a press the green button”. Which is rude, why make assumptions that we weren’t going to tip. I had asked does it normally take that long to remake a med rare steak, since there wasn’t much people in the restaurant. He said it took a long time because of to go orders and because they make their potatoes fresh. Ok so why not communicate that to us about the wait time, or if they knew it was going to be awhile server should have asked him to keep his eggs and potatoes since it was just the steak that was being replaced or she could have offer something else so he’s just not sitting there watching me eat my food. Overall this probably explains why they have no guest dining in due to poor work ethics and their rude unpleasant behavior. We will stick to having lunch or breakfast else where .

For a Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the food and service was phenomenal. Wife had the steak and eggs breakfast with hash browns with cheese and onion. The steak was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Potatoes were tender and crisp.

The burger has a cheese curd topper that was tasteful with a perfectly cooked layer of bacon. I had my share of Long Island iced teas that were good from every area of the casino.

We came in around 12pm. We were seated right away, with drinks right after.

Food arrived after 30 minutes. Place was almost empty. We got Chicken tenders, Fish and chips and chicken schnizel.

Chicken tender was salty, thick batter that was not so good. Got the little version $7

Chicken schnizel was one of the worst ones ive had. Sauce was disgusting, but veggies were good.

Fish and Chips were actually really good. Fresh, good tasting batter with a nice crunch. Got the little version $11

Would I come here again? No.

The Monte Cristo, BLT, and a custom skillet was excellent! Our cook Jami made everything perfectly, and Kathy gave us great service. We’ll be back again, soon!

We come out from the Chico area to gamble and sometimes eat. Their night service is always bad they’re always short-staffed. The servers run around like chickens with their heads cut off. The nighttime Supervisor always has a dirty look on her face we won’t be back.

The best place in town for a reasonable priced meal in quiet, comfortable setting. No body makes a better hamburger.

We ordered room service 2 nights in a row. Should’ve known better after the first night but gave them another try. ALL good was extremely underseasoned. And they provide no salt or pepper shakers with the room service. So the food was extremely bland. The 2nd night we made sure we had salt and pepper from the cafe in the casino so we could season the food. Ever since then, we will NOT get the room service, nor will we step foot in this place. Just BAD!!!

Today Father’s Day nobody was in there. Took forever to get our food and when we finally did the fries were undercooked. Service was okay but what’s up with the kitchen? I was so embarrassed to bring family there for the first time not sure if I’ll return

First time here today 1/2/2025. I will start by saying this…this place is 100% better than Wahlburgers downstairs…this place had excellent flavor, service was great, overall great experience. Wahlburgers is a joke and disgusting! So happy I went to Acorn and totally will be back!

It was a long wait for our food. There was only another couple in the restaurant. Our food was over cooked and tasteless. . We had to ask multiple times for items, somethings we never received. It was a poor experience. We have had breakfast there before and everything was great. My husband said he will never eat there again. We talked with the waitress and she said they were very under staffed. That seems to be a trend for many restaurants. Guess it’s something we will have to learn to get used to.
