Went on a Sunday night at 530 pm there was 3 other couples there. We ordered clams and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. The waiter brings the bread and literally tosses the basket on the table. Our 2 cokes he sets them down and goes to slide them on the table cloth and spills some from each glass and doesn’t say a word. Shrimp cocktail came out with the tails stuck in the sauce. NEVER in my life have I ever seen shrimp cocktail served with the tail in the sauce !!! To me this was done in spite ! Wife ordered surf and turf and I ordered chicken Francese. The filet mignon ordered Med/well. It came back VERY well done charred on top and the lobster was overcooked. Wife could not finish the steak as it was tough.. lobster she did not finish either as it was way over cooked.
The chicken francese I had after the waiter spilled some sauce on my leg. Chicken was overcooked in a thick gravy sauce. I’m use to a thinner sauce but it did have a decent flavor. I felt as if the waiter was annoyed we came in at 530 and they close at 9. If this is their normal type of service and food prep I do not recommend them at all. Best thing we ate was the bread.

The people who served us at the restaurant were very kind. We ordered paella and a seafood platter, which were different from what we normally eat in other places. The seafood platter in particular had a slightly sweet touch. The prices were reasonable.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is phenomenal. They make an awesome sangria.

⚠️ portions are huge.

Absolutely love this place. We sampled some of each other’s dish. Everything is phenomenal, and I must try the rest of the menu.

Being from out of town we took a chance based on the reviews. They were spot on! Excellent food and top notch service.
We had octopus for a starter, done perfectly with garlic in oil. For mains, we had the sole in garlic and the paella. Both were very good.
Atmosphere is indeed cozy and quaint.
Highly recommend Spain Rincon.

We heard of this place and even commented how it looks like nothing on the outside; barely a sign, but what’s inside is nothing short of wonderful. You step inside a cozy restaurant with it’s separate bar area and it’s so relaxing. Then the marvelous staff comes over and you immediately feel at home. There’s plenty of classic as well as their own take on many yummy Spanish dishes. Why drive to Newark with such a gem, certainly on par with the best of them. Prices are quite fair and the quantities are massive. All I can say is, I’ve found my new, favourite Spanish restaurant and look forward to a trip back.

I’ve lived in Rockaway/Wharton my entire life, and I’ve passed by this place so many times but never stopped to go in. I decided to go in today off whim and was completely engulfed by how gorgeous the inside looks. The staff was so friendly & welcoming I took their recommendation because I’ve never had Spaniard food. I opted for the Skirt Steak & Shrimp recommendation, and it’s easily one of the best dinners I’ve had for a long time. Filling & tasty the perfect balance. I can’t recommend it enough, and I never leave reviews, but this one had to happen. PS. Their Sangria’s is the best in town! Will definitely be stopping by often.

The food was amazing. The staff was amazing. I have to admit our party was a little loud and crazy and yet they still were very friendly to us, and let us just have a good time.

I’ve gone to this restaurant several times, and have had great experiences but then some bad experiences. I don’t know if they change cooks often or not, but the quality is up and down. Portions are decent, but they have definitely cut back, but kept prices the same with some recent increases. Nice atmosphere but sometimes it’s ruined by the loud clattering of dishes and utensils in the dining space. Waiters are friendly but you feel rushed at times because they’re frequently pouring your drinks so it makes you feel you’re being rushed out. I just wish the quality of food was consistent. Rice is always bland, chips don’t always taste fresh as if they just sit under a heat lamp in the back, when you ask for medium or medium rare, it come out overcooked more often than not. I’ve had a lobster tail, twice now, hoping the 2nd time it wasn’t overcooked & dry, but again, if they can make it right, like they have, just be consistent. The Cook is key. Management shouldn’t allow food to come out of the kitchen unless it’s cooked right. I hope the owner really reads the reviews and trust customers and take their comments seriously.

The response I just received back from my review from the Owner is VERY unprofessional. I do not know who MR is that you’re referring to. I don’t know why you’re making it sound like I’m “bombing” your restaurant, just making an honest review that, as a customer, I’m entitled to. YOU do not know me. I’ve never even met you, nor have I seen a manager there on the few times I’ve come there. It appears the Owner must have a complex and making harsh accusations is something that the Owner must work on. VERY unprofessional & I will NOT be going back and will tell my friends to stay clear also.

Discovering this hidden gem of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant was a delightful surprise. Their Paella Valencia dish is packed with flavor with an abundance of fresh seafood, savory sausage, and tender chicken. The place may be small but their portions are anything but! Must try if you are around the Rockaway Mall area!
