Start where the restaurant wants you to start, with oysters on ice. They arrive cold and pristine, tasting of clean brine and mineral snap, the kind of salinity that wakes up your palate rather than dulling it. The sauces are there to play with, but the best bites are often the simplest: a squeeze of lemon, a quick tilt of the shell, and the ocean’s clean aftertaste lingering like good linen.
The clam chowder follows as comfort with discipline. It is creamy without becoming gluey, thick enough to feel substantial but not so heavy that it erases the clams. The flavor is steady and savory, more about balanced dairy and brined shellfish than a blunt hit of pepper or bacon. It tastes like the Boston version of refinement: familiar, but tightened into focus.
Then there is the warm buttered lobster roll, the city’s most reliable test of restraint. At Row 34, the roll is indulgent in all the right ways, with lobster that stays sweet and springy, not shredded into anonymity. The butter coats rather than floods, carrying a gentle richness that amplifies the shellfish instead of competing with it. The roll itself is soft and toasted, giving just enough structure to keep the bite clean. Even the side of chips feels in character, crisp, salty, and casual, like a reminder that the point is pleasure, not performance.
Row 34 Seaport succeeds because it understands what diners want from a modern seafood house: impeccable cold bar standards, warm dishes that respect the ingredients, and a room that feels alive without making you work for it. It is a place where the food tastes clear, the atmosphere stays bright, and the experience leaves you thinking less about spectacle and more about how soon you can come back.
I spent my restaurant with my girl at the bar table. Did not ever think it’s so nice to use a bar table for two of us. Oysters and every single piece of food is delicious.
The lobster roll is their signature dish for a reason — generous, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Every dish felt thoughtfully executed and high quality.
Service was attentive, efficient, and genuinely friendly throughout our meal. Our table was near the staff station, so it was a bit loud and busy at times, but the outstanding food more than made up for it.
We would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Boston!
Row 34 absolutely lived up to the hype! The moment we walked in, the place had that perfect mix of modern, cozy, and lively. The service was quick, friendly, and super knowledgeable — they really know their seafood here.
The oysters were incredibly fresh, probably the best I’ve had in a long time. And the Warm Buttered Lobster Roll? Next level. Perfectly toasted roll, juicy lobster, and just the right amount of butter. Every bite was crazy good.
We also tried a few small plates, and everything came out hot and full of flavor. You can tell they care about quality.
If you’re visiting Boston, Row 34 is a must — amazing seafood, great vibes, and worth every dollar. I’ll definitely be back! ✨
Surprise moctail (4/10) – too much grapefruit juice
Oysters (9/10) – I def want to try more
Tuna crudo (9/10) – this was a standout for me. Solid choice
Clam chowder soup (7.5/10) – pretty good
Calamari (2/10) – greasy, oil saturated, no flavor. Probably the worst calamari I’ve ever had. I couldn’t stomach it.
Oyster Slider (2/10) – this was also pretty bad, from the bread to the oyster patty. Couldn’t eat it.
I was pretty disappointed. I’ve never had entire dishes thrown out, especially at a nice restaurant.
That being said, I probably ordered the wrong things. If I’m in the area again I’m going to give this place another try.

The ambience was pleasant, but it was ruined by a couple hovering behind my bar seat, making it uncomfortably clear they were waiting to take my spot.
