Second time we have come to Casablanca, last time at the much smaller place located at the Quality Inn. Ugly but the food was top notch.

This location that was recently opened, beautiful place, huge dining room. Food. NOT top notch, we got the deviled eggs that per the Iowa Galavant are locally “famous “. I’d rate them 2 out 5 barely edible, tasted freshly made, too vinegary for my taste. Due to the lateness of the evening we opted for bowls of the potato soup w a breadstick, but mistakenly we were served cups w crackers, which was in our favor as it didn’t resemble the delicious potato soup we enjoyed at the previous location, rather a salty, thin not homemade ( at least it didn’t seem homemade). The hand breaded onion rings were not very good, for $7 we got about 9 rings, thinly cut rings breaded with cornmeal with a itsy bitsy cup of ranch, the ranch is good it is the only dressing that is made in house.

The young boy who greeted us was enthusiastic and excited to announce he has already made $57 bucks tonight on a Wednesday night. Looks to be 12 ish.

The very large dining room is a major improvement from the previous location, but everything spoken travels like conversations on the lake. We were the only customers in the dining area, a few people at the bar.

The young boy, rarely stopped talking to his mom (also an employee) he has no inside voice. He means well, but the employees need to grasp that this big beautiful restaurant is more readily enjoyed in an atmosphere with some soft music in the background, which would benefit from a large room sound system. As we made our exit from this disappointing meal, there is some music emanating from somewhere near the wall nearest the exit.

Maybe the steaks are good, but the deviled eggs, onion rings and potato soup today were not up to par with the previous experience we enjoyed at the ugly hole in the wall that we fell in love with.

Hopefully this restaurant will do well it’s really a beautiful dining room.

Horrible customer service when we asked for our Alfredo sauce to be hot as it was so cold the sauce wouldn’t even move if you tipped the bowl. She came back out and said “it’s a little bit warm” and then was mad when we ask for it to be taken back. Then we paid $25 a piece for 2 lobster tails that were cold. Asked for them them to be fixed and she tried to take them back and be warmed up. Mind you when we walked in there was nobody else eating in there as they had just opened up so we couldn’t understand why our food was cold. She then charged us for 4 lobster tails which rang up to $100 a piece and didn’t tell nobody that we were being charged for 4 lobster tails. Especially when we didn’t eat a single one. Both the managers were not helpful disrespectful and laughing at us like we were a joke $300 later never again. It’s sad.

So, this restaurant is inside the Quality Inn. We were confused and almost didn’t go in! But we did, and WOW, so glad we did!! The food here was absolutely delicious! They also have a great drink menu. I had the most delicious Mud Slide ever! There were lots of people there who clearly thought so, too. Looked like at least two big groups for birthdays. Highly recommend!

Worst service ever!!! Waited over an hour people who got there after us were getting food, we had to ask a busser where our food was. when it finally came it was all cold!!! We got there at 5:20pm left at 6:45pm we barely ate are food. We told her it was cold and she did said nothing!!! she couldn’t even clear our dirty cups when she finally brought us refills. For $90 we will not be back.

a steak restaurant in iowa inside a hotel the place is very busy at dinner. The star of this restaurant is its very friendly and attentive staff. Despite being very busy, their positive and friendly attitude was noticeable, especially in the young man who served us. Good food within expectations.

Nice place but moving it into the hotel did not do it any favors. This restaurant needs it’s own building!! That being said, the food was good. Steak was cooked excellent and the staff were extremely pleasant and in point!!!

Visited on 4/9/25 between 4:05-4:40pm. Only a party of 4 besides myself in a space that could hold approx. 150. Somewhat of a makeshift restaurant in the same space the hotel uses for its continental breakfast. Dingy with generic decor. Obviously doesn’t get much for patronage (suspect mostly hotel guests or the trailer park next door) considering the coat rack area is just being used as chair storage, lack of staff. Only 1 person working the front of the restaurant & 1 working the hotels front desk area, which after leaving noticed outside socializing with a drive-by. The hotel is also being used as a U-haul drop-off site. Their 3 banquet rooms are not only door locked, but also padlocked as well. Also have a feeling the nothern end of the hotel is the only part being used judging by where all the guests are parked…. so obviously the overall property doesn’t get much for business. Understandable when its .5 mile out in the middle of nowhere, and not much in terms of dining options (5) for the entire West side of the City/river either. Had the restaurants Lasagna meal special which was filling but overall bland.

I had the New York Strip and the wife had the chicken. I like my steak very rare and it came out of the kitchen perfect. The server was very friendly and she checked on us the perfect number of times. I would of liked just a little more seasoning on my steak and the wife said her rice was a little too salty. I tried the rice and didn’t think it was too salty. Overall would recommend! We spend 79 dollars plus tip on a meal that I felt could of been 100 dollars plus the tip.

Came across this place as was looking for a steak. Other reviews have mentioned about them being short staffed. That was the case indeed. Looked like 2 servers for maybe 20 patrons. We almost got up to leave but then got attended to.
We started with the jalapeño poppers which were more bready than actual jalapeños.
My companion had the steak which looked good but he said it wasn’t the best. I had the charbroiled jumbo shrimp which looked like they were maybe broiled in the oven? The side of soup was the best and I enjoyed it. It was the Irish Beef Stew soup. It tasted like stew gravy in a soupy form with potatoes, green beans and decent amount of beef pieces.
