I was in Rochester for the evening and the hotel said that this was pretty much the only place available for food. I decided since that was my only option to try it out and I have to say I was very impressed. This is the best food that I’ve had in a long time.

Good food, good service. We got the 5 piece fried green tomatoes to start and probably should’ve gotten the 3 piece because the pieces were a bit bigger than expected (a good thing!) and pretty filling, but so so good especially with the ranch. Ribs, greens, and mac and cheese were good too.

You’ll have to wait for a table at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, but it’s absolutely worth it. The quality of the food is outstanding. In my opinion one of the best barbecue spots you can eat at.
The staff is friendly, welcoming, and really knows the menu. We were a group of five and shared the family-style barbecue platter, which was more than enough. We ended up with left overs
The ribs literally melted off the bone, the brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The cornbread was perfectly cooked, the coleslaw had a great balance of crunchy and creamy, and the mac and cheese was rich and comforting. Even the homemade fries were spot on, soft on the inside with just the right crunch.
A must-visit if you’re a barbecue fan.

Love the Sweetheart Deal for 2 full rack and 4 sides w/cornbread under $50!! The fried green tomatoes are a must every trip too! And the wings are amazing!!!! Get the bloody mary I prefer gin but it was perfectly spicy and the rim was perfectly tasty too! Mac n Cheese is a must and the greens are good of course and the potato salad is spot on will order all of this again and again!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is incredible! The meat is absolutely delicious — I can’t say more. I ordered takeout and it was ready in less than 15 minutes, super fast and convenient. If you want to dine in, definitely make a reservation. It’s always busy, and that alone tells you how good the place is.
I had a plate with different meats, plus mac and cheese and red beans as sides. Everything was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. They even included cornbread, which was the perfect touch.

Great BBQ and live music! Side Eye plays here and it’s always a groovy time! The brisket is so good plus fantastic pulled pork and the Dino putine is phenomenal! Great bar and room for live music! They also have a late night menu after 10 pm. The smoked chicken wings are killer!

I know some people may disagree, but Dinosaur BBQ has the best ribs I’ve ever had. I’ve been to Texas, Mephis, St. Louis and countless roadside stands in between. I can’t believe that we have such amazing ribs right here in Rochester.
I love how the long smoking time permeates deeply into the meat and makes it so tender. Again, some may disagree, but I like that they leave the membrane on the back of the ribs intact. I believe this helps retain moisture during the long smoke.
Prior to serving they give the rack a little slathering and throw it on the grill for some char. This combination of cooking gives an amazing depth of texture and flavor.
If you haven’t been to Dino, go today. You will be happy.
Oh, they have a huge selection of beers and other food items. But I always get the same thing, every time. Full rack of ribs, a half pound of “Drunken Shameless Spicy Shrimp” and like 10 beers.

I made a reservation for 10 and called to let them know we have an autistic child and a diabetic/GF loved one with us to give us the most lowest-sensory spot and they had a separate GF menu! So from the moment I called to adjust the time, until arrival and departure. The hospitality experience that we received was fantastic. Every one of us Rochester natives haven’t been there in many years and we decided to try again. We are sure glad we did. The food was incredible including the pork belly sliders, corn bread, Mac & cheese, steamed greens, the ribs – everything. We’d like a shout out to Sidney who was our waitress. She attended us very well and was very nice. I would just be very careful if you have someone with a disability or a wheelchair user – it was challenging to navigate with all the snow outside in the small parking lot.

This came highly recommended to us and I really liked the restaurant. Great building, atmosphere, etc. Loved the decor, especially the Dino band wall thing. Service was a bit slowe, especially since it wasn’t busy at the time but I think our table on the stage was far from the waitress’ section.
Food had great portions and the price was very reasonable. The food itself… it was good but a little over-rated. The whipped sweet potatoes didn’t hit the spot with their lack of sweetness and the cornbread didn’t have that flavorful melt-in-your-mouth I enjoy. The bbq sauce, brisket and pork belly were good but not great. Overall, good place to eat, just wasn’t up to the hype.
