Oh, my. This place is the bomb. Our waitress, Cindy was amazing. This young lady could run the white house. She knows her stuff. If i am not mistaken she has been there for a long time. She knows how to interact with people, her skill is unmatched. If i wasn’t married l, I would ask her to marry me. My wife, Tina and I. Travel 7 to 8 months a year. We have come across the black bear dinner in many of places, always wanted to try it, but i am so glad we waited. Cindy, made our first experience a 1000 out of ten. Now its my favorite place to eat. We will make it our business to stop in 1 to 3 times a year. Danny was another staff member who stood out. We order something that was out, he provided my wife and I a dish of choice. No matter what we chose. Those potatoes were the bomb. As we travel we blog a lot. Mainly about the quality of the restrooms, cleanliness, and the staff. A+ Thanks Danny and Cindy. We will be back. You are on our Christmas list.

Hubby and I went on Sun., 18 Jan 2026. We were quickly seated by Jayson, waitress Karen gave us a pleasant smile and warm greeting. The hardworking gentelman hustling to sweep floors and clear tables kept the place immaculate. You get plenty of appetizing plates of food, leaving us full as a tick! The high volume of patrons truly warrants replacement of seating. It detracts from the ambiance to sit upon or scoot across worn upholstery. A bit pricey for orange juice, no choice to order small, automatically got a large which was $5.99 x2 = $11.98 all I can say is, WOW! Overall, we walked out satisfied. Total with tax, $45.06, plus $8 cash tip given directly to server. Breakfast for two $53.06! Certainly my first to pay $41.46 w/o tax for breakfast. Next time we will have ice water with our food. Lol

My wife and I ate here today. We sat down at 9:02 Am and received our food at 9:50 AM. They were busy and this wouldn’t have been so bad except a lot of people who came in way after us received their food before us. I complained to the waitress. She said ours was next up but it wasn’t. This is why I gave 1 star for the service because of the wait.

Next the food.
I would just give it 2.5 stars. I ordered eggs over easy and received them semi hard and crispy around the edges as you can see from picture one. I had to use a knife to cut through the edges. You may ask why not send it back, well we were already there over 50 minutes and I just wanted to leave.
The pancakes were stodgy. My wife said her eggs benedick were just ok.
The atmosphere is nice and pleasant.

We won’t be back to Black Bear. The long wait we experienced for the food to come is just not worth it

Just ordered the taco salad and let me compliment the chef and experience! I got the taco salad and it was amazing! It had fresh beef, beans, romaine, cheese, olives, purple onions, jalapeños, tomatoes all fresh! I’ve seen other ppl order but never ventured out enough to try. Jaelyn or Jay the cook took his time making this extra tasty! I noticed the ingredients looked better than usual. So next time I go I will make to see if I can ask if Jay is available to make our food! I’m a true believer that it’s about who cooks your meal. Compliments to chef! He’s a keeper. The food has definitely been great when he cooks. Thank you! Great food. Service was also excellent. Jay/ Jeremy (different Jay) but waiter also was super friendly as usual.

This place has its hits and misses. If you go when it isn’t busy, then this place is 5 stars. If you go when it is busy, the service is somewhat lacking.

The food is always a hit: big portions and the taste doesn’t disappoint

Clientele is sketchy at times

Wait staff is hit and miss. Some are worth tipping more, others can’t seem to be bothered and would rather be anywhere else but waiting on you.

Menu varies- why would they remove the ‘Cheeseburger salad’??

This is definitely your typical diner. It’s great for the older crowd or those who can’t handle a lot of seasoning. Our grandparents really enjoyed eating here and wanted us to try it. The service was nice and the bear gift shop is super cute. The desserts are very sweet and worth a try. The portions were reasonable. The sweet potato fry were a bot soft and could have been crispy. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but you can find something here to eat.

Wish I would have went here a long time ago. This place was amazing we had a party of 10 on Easter and no wait. I had the chicken fried steak grizzly style and it didn’t disappoint It was amazing! Everybody had something different and to be honest with you the food was not only good but the portions are very generous. I like that a lot! I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who’s looking for great dinner, lunch or even breakfast

Black Bear Diner, The Place to Dine!! Walking in we were attended with a friendly and warm smile accompanied by a short wait. The whole process was smooth and the employees were extremely nice. Ordering from their massive menu was hard because of all the captivating dishes. The pancakes were fluffy, the bacon was cooked perfectly, and the OJ was freshly squeezed perfectly complimenting the food. Our waiter was on point and never left us waiting for her to tend to us. Danny passed by checking in on us and contaminated us with his upbeat energy and genuine vibe, everyone was extremely nice to us and the whole process from beginning to end was smooth and delicious. Highly recommend and we are 100% coming back! PS. get the banana pie
