This is your no frills classic bbq joint. Checkered table covers, communal tables, bbq, & lots of noise. They have a large lot for parking. When you walk in it’s furnished like a dining hall with large long tables and a bar along the wall. There’s also outside patio seating as well. This is a great place to hang with a larger group & listen to some live music. Unfortunately the food was really a miss for me.
We ordered the pork belly burnt end potato skins, jambalaya, chicken wings, burnt ends with potato salad & beans, and ribs. I would not recommend the jambalaya, it did not have any creole flavors to it or color. I also didn’t care for the potato salad, it was missing that tang. I was also disappointed with the burnt end potato skins as they took out majority of the potato so it was truly only the potato skin when the actual potato could’ve helped provide more texture and body. Additionally by omitting the green onions they missed the opportunity to brighten it up with some freshness.
I would definitely recommend the ribs they had a nice bark on them! I also like the array of bbq sauces offered. Our waitress was really helpful and very fast at getting us any additional things we needed.
Although we didn’t stay for the live music I can definitely see it getting rowdy in there! Would like to come back to enjoy a performance and have some drinks.

It was my first time in this bar. I was visiting from England. I had the BEST time. From the moment we walked Katy, our server, had us in stitches which her sense of humour. Her service was the best I had during my two week stay. The food was yummy too!
But the music! Being English, I hadn’t heard of Brody Buster. Now, I’ll never forget him. What a talent. What a nice man!
Made my trip even better than it already was.

The BBQ was very good ! But what makes this place great is the atmosphere. I was there for open mic Saturday afternoon and it was difficult to fine seating. This is a great place to bring a family if you enjoy live music in an intimate setting. All the musicians were very talented and the BBQ Was top notch. The service was slow but likely because the place was packed.

This place is a hidden gem. Can’t believe we have not been before. We sat on the porch on a beautiful day. Service was excellent and quick. The skillet fries are KC BBQ fry top 3 Contenders. The burnt ends were perfect, smoke ring, char, and yet still melt in your mouth. Will be back to try the rest of the menu. Kids meal would feed two adults. The ranch beans are great. The sauce is by far the sweetest KC sauce, but has a bit of spice bite on the hot sauce. Gonna guess they order brown sugar on a pallet.

Update: music and venue is fantastic. Brisket was cold and dry — needed sauce and smoke flavor wasn’t there. 20something year old server got ticked when my I said something (was hosting guests from Memphis and Texas).

This place was absolutely amazing! I and two others were traveling from Minnesota and were told to try Missouri barbecue while we were visiting here. Close by to us was this place. They did NOT disappoint!! I ordered their spare ribs, and they were so flavorful and tender. Their cornbread was fluffy and was so delicious. The cocktails were well made. But, DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THOSE TATER KEGS. The things I could say about thise things would so not be appropriate for Google, and I dont need them to know what I have to offer with my vocabulary that contains more colors than you ever thought existed. Let’s just say, I would go to war for those tater kegs; the flavor of them exploded in my mouth like an atom bomb! If you go to this restaurant, make sure you have enough money to go to your nearest surplus store to sack up because you, too, will be ready for warfare to defend them tater kegs. I 1000% recommend going to this place if you are looking to experience Missouri BBQ.
The atmosphere was incredible; the decor on the inside was very colorful and appealing. The outdoor seating was very cozy with all the lights. The live music that was playing added to the atmosphere as well!
The service was top-notch. Our waitress was very attentive and assisted with any and all questions and concerns, and they were very hospitable. Shout-out to Amy!

You can not go wrong with anything on this menu. Love finding this kind of awesomeness after a long day walking around the zoo. So great. Would even consider going back this week while we are staying in Lawrence. Tried the pepper jack Mac and cheese bites. We tried the Big Walter, I had the cheddar jalapeno sausage with green beans and our daughter had the 1/2 chicken with skillet potatoes. Omg. So so good. Would highly recommend. Everything. Fried bread pudding for dessert. Yum.

My husband & I stopped in on our way home to Wichita after my birthday weekend spent in KC. We enjoyed the BBQ so much (my husband is from Texas, so he’s a tough critic) we ended up ordering 2 of the big family meals to bring home to our kids after we ate. We ended up enjoying BBs BBQ for 3 days! No complaints, just alot of food. Server was very friendly and accommodating. Great place! Give it a try!
