10pm looking around for food my favorite Chinese place stumbled across Chef house to get it a try atmosphere looked sketchy food was absolutely terrible a huge waste of $48 the orange chicken was gummy and falling apart the rice was supposed to be fried rice no veggies or eggs nothing but plain old cold brown rice safe to say I’ll never eat here again.

This was not a bad meal. It was a mediocre one. And sometimes that is worse.

Chef House sits quietly on Cedar Springs. One of those late night spots you hope might surprise you. I placed my order online. Walked in. Got exactly what I paid for. No more. No less.

No greeting. The cashier stayed on the phone the entire time. She slid the bag across the counter without a word, just a simple smile. I tipped five dollars anyway. Because you tip on the subtotal. Before taxes. Before fees. Because that is the rule. Because you still want to believe someone in the kitchen gives a damn.

The egg roll was cold. Not lukewarm. Not fading. Cold. Like it had been sitting alone for too long. The wonton soup was fine. It had heat but no soul. The shrimp lo mein came in a medium portion. The shrimp were cooked. The noodles had texture. But the flavor had gone missing. No ginger. No garlic. No depth. Just a full container of silence.

The Dr Pepper was perfect. Because it came from a can. Shout out to the Doc.

The total came to twenty nine dollars and fifty two cents. A dollar seventy five added for the convenience of a forgettable meal. (Despite it being their own website, and no DoorDash)

Chef House is not a place to hate. It is a place to forget. It does not offend. It does not inspire. It simply exists. And sometimes that is the most disappointing thing of all.

Three point two stars. Honest food with no fire.

Food is always hot and stays hot even after a longer drive home! Great flavor on all items and the kindest people running the front desk! Never disappoints. The most reliable late night food spot I’ve found in Dallas

For Chinese food you can get at midnight on a Thursday, this place is amaaaazing. Called in a to-go order, paid over the phone, ready in 15 mins, in & out of there, good service. Great portions, flavor as expected, meat cooked well— you really can’t ask for more. It’s got a higher price, but its whole purpose is to satisfy late-night cravings… it makes sense

Was a bit skeptical on ordering here due to the reviews but decided to take a chance for dinner and everything was freshly cooked and tasted good and decent. Fair pricing would order again

I enjoyed the food. I got the pepper steak fried rice, happy family, no pork and chicken lo mein. Everything was good. I will be back for another late night Chinese food run

They are getting 2 stars from me, only because of service, ease of ordering and food being hot. However, the egg rolls were dense, flavorful inside, but dry and fried in dirty grease. The Happy Family barely had any meat at all, although it calls for more than one meat and the lime threw off the taste for me. The sesame chicken was as well drier than ive had. The food was very pricey, as I ordered 2 house specials and an extra egg roll for each and paid almost $45. It was not worth the money. But they had decent customer service.

Please stop eating here so we might be able to get some real Chinese food in the area. Place is absolutely abysmal, the fried rice I ordered literally wasn’t fried at all im pretty sure they just threw some type of sauce on it. No veggies eggs or anything… just unfried rice. On top of that the orange chicken I ordered was old and crunchy. Please shut this place down. I’m afraid to even try the egg rolls. All this for $20 absolutely insane I can’t believe this spot exist.
