Since opening in June of 1990, we’ve made it our daily mission to provide an enjoyable dining experience for our guests. We’ve implemented many changes and upgrades to Tidal Raves in an effort to better accommodate and better serve you, most recently by adding our bar in 2015. In addition to our carefully chosen wine list consisting primarily of west coast wines, we now offer a selection of craft beer and cocktails including our own barrel-aged recipes. We sincerely hope that you sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful views and every aspect of your stay with us. But most of all we’d like to express our utmost gratitude for your patronage over the years and to assure you that we will continue to look for new and better ways to serve you.

First of all, the atmosphere is lovely, with a full wall of windows looking out onto the ocean. The sunset was amazing. We were seated at a small bar area looking toward the ocean.
The food is healthy, with lots of gluten free options, and so many delicious menu items. Everything is quite reasonably priced, and coming from Portland, we got so much more food for our dollar than similar seafood restaurants there. I ordered the crusted rockfish, and it was so good! And the portions are very large. My husband ordered the lingcod fish and chips, and it was also very tasty, flaky, crunchy…we will absolutely be back. We can’t believe we didn’t know this place was here before!
The atmosphere was nice, and even though it was busy, it wasn’t too loud. Highly recommend to anyone who is gluten free or who loves seafood and steak!
But these? Best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Full stop. So good I returned in the same week like some kind of taco stalker pretending I “just happened to be in the neighborhood again.” No shame.
Let’s talk about the real headline: masa battered. Not flour. Not some sad gluten-dusted compromise. MASA. As in crispy, golden, Baja-style perfection that shatters just right when you bite into it.
If you’re gluten-free and have been wandering the earth searching for a legit Baja-style fish taco that doesn’t taste like a substitute teacher version of the real thing… this is the unicorn. The glittering, mythical, “I-can’t-believe-this-is-gluten-free” unicorn of fish tacos. The fish is flaky. The batter is crisp.
And whatever you do—whatever you think you know about restraint—get the aioli.** You have to.** It’s not optional. It’s a must. The aioli takes it from “wow” to “I may need a moment alone with these tacos.”
If you like seafood, must visit.
Thank you to the management for having such a great team.
To take best advantage of the amazing view, the entire sea facing wall is windows, you can barely tear your eyes away from the crashing wave to take a bite of your tatsy food. We had bread and butter, clam chowder, fish tacos and tiramisu and it was ALL fabulous!
I knew what I wanted: steamed clams, a warm baguette and a Louie salad. My friend ordered the Diablo pasta raves and we got a plate to split and had it brought in courses, which our sweet and knowledgeable server asked our preferences all along the way.
Our table side corkage was a head turner. My resolution for 2026 was to drink more champagne and it never disappoints. Shortly after, our warm baguette and steamers arrived. They did not disappoint. Buttery, garlicky, and the perfect flavor. We greatly enjoyed them and the broth as a sop for the remaining broth until our salad and entree arrived.
Pictured below is the combo Louie and the Pasta Rave Diablo. I like my Louie’s to be heavy on the horseradish and you must ask for a side of horseradish. Some places don’t do this, but I highly recommend. The amount of Dungeness and bay shrimps was perfect. I came for the beach and got it. My only request would be less ketchup in the 1000 dressing, but that is a minor correction.
Now the Diablo sauce was the best I have had. It was well seasoned and the perfect portion. I also had a funny request to get a chicken tender to try with our champagne (recommended by a sommelier a few weeks ago) and our server was happy to oblige.
The atmosphere was romantic and cozy. I look forward to my next visit to try some other menu items.
We did get desserts to go and my friend chose the key lime. She said it was what she was looking for and it tickled her senses. My creme brûlée was more than what I was looking for. So good
Now, when reading reviews I saw people say it was pricey and I disagree. I thought for the experience, quality, and vibe this was very affordable fine dining. If you are looking for an experience I highly recommend Tidal Raves if you are in the area. (make an online reservation, we showed up and were put on a waitlist so we could have missed out!)
