I got the salmon plate with the yogurt n cucumber salad,
My daughters got the veggie plate with grilled tomatoes n jalapeño (sooo good!)
And my other daughter got thw chicken shawarma plate with grilled tomato n jalapeño, and the cucumber salad.
Over all food was on point!
The first time the chef burned my chicken, I tore off the burned pieces and ate the pieces that weren’t burnt. This time was completely unacceptable. I asked for a refund and the guy tried to explain that it’s normal for the outside pieces to be burnt. I’m all for a little char on my meat but it was BURNT (carcinogen) BURNT. I shook my head and told the man I’ve been coming here for a while and this usually doesn’t happen. He grabbed the plate and said he’ll make me some fresh chicken. He was dismissive and seemed upset. He walked to the fridge and grabbed some fresh meat and proceeded to cook the meat. He did apologize as I walked away and sat down but I didn’t trust him after our interaction. I started to think, “what if he does something to my food in the back of the kitchen.” After a few more seconds of being in my head I just walked out and went back home. I was sad because I’ve been eating at that place since early February of this year. I fell in love with this restaurant. Its hard to find good quality food in Pasadena. I really thought I lucked up with this place but customer service and how you make people feel matters the most. I won’t be back.
The food was legitimately so delicious! I had the ground chicken wrap with tabbouleh. Everything was so well plated and seasoned. And there isn’t a shortage of food. Highly recommend!
My partner and I shared the chicken thigh and chicken lule combo plate and it was a perfect amount for us to share. We got baba ganoush as one of the sides and we loved it. The chicken lule was nicely seasoned, but the real star was the chicken thigh! So insanely juicy and tender, great flavor. We still talk about the chicken thigh weeks later!
It was not busy at all when we came here on a random Saturday afternoon. We’ve also driven by on weekend nights and it was completely empty inside. But we think this place completely deserves more hype and we’ll definitely be back to try other dishes!
