My husband and I along with some friends tried this place when it first opened a while back. Chose not to go back. But we decided to give it another try. We went for lunch a couple days ago. Here’s my thoughts:
***Server was a very sweet young lady.
***Food came out in a timely manner (lunch time but there were only a couple more guests there)
***Cost of food reasonable
***Chips were good. Salsa ok. Guacamole ok.
***Husband got chicken carnitas. He said his meal was good.
***Granddaughter got chicken nuggets and fries (she’s 11…what can I say!). She said they were good but can you really go wrong with nuggets and fries?
***Now!!! My meal!!! I ordered a mushroom quesadilla and a cheese enchilada a la carte because I did not want beans or rice.
When my order came out, it was a cheese quesadilla rather than a cheese enchilada. And the mushroom quesadilla. I told the server I had ordered an enchilada and she said she would get it. Her words: “They must have read the ticket wrong.”.
The cheese quesadilla had barely any cheese (unmelted cheese). When the enchilada arrived there was hardly any sauce. And the mushroom quesadilla!!! It looked and tasted like the cook had literally opened a can of mushroom, warmed them up a bit, and put them in the quesadilla. I asked the server if this was how the cook usually made a mushroom quesadilla or was he/she just in a hurry and didn’t have time (which I didn’t think was the case because there were very few other customers there) to prepare them properly. She said she would ask. She then came back and told me the cook said that was how the quesadilla was always prepared. I ate the cheese and some of the shell of both the mushroom and the cheese quesadillas.
You can see from the pictures I’m posting that I’m not exaggerating.
Hopefully it will improve in the future. But for now, sadly, I can not recommend this restaurant.

We had high expectations heading in to El Patron, as we’re fond of a location with the same name near Leeds. However, if the two are affiliated, it’s not clear, because our favorite items from the Leeds restaurant aren’t on the menu here.
It was fun; noisy, but not obnoxiously so.

Very disappointed in portion size . have always phrased on how big of portion size from Mexican restaurant usually 2 people can eat from one size portion and also can usually eat twice from most portion ,this restaurant I was worried that would not be able to feed us .

I would love to rate the food but I never got to try it. My friend and I decided to try out this place since Baja was packed. We came in and there was a couple in front of us waiting to be seated. We all waited several minutes and finally a man came out from the back and sat the couple. He then went back into the back and my friend and I waited a few more minutes for him to seat us. We looked over the menu and after about 5 minutes that same man brought us chips and salsa and walked off. He never took our drink order just left us there to eat chips and salsa with no drink. After about 20 minutes of sitting with no service, the couple that came in with us left and we followed. They were not busy (only 2 other tables were occupied and appeared to already have food) and the man who seated us was hanging out at the bar talking. He didn’t even seem to care about us walking out. I am usually very patient and give grace, but when you are slow and can’t even get a drink order in 20 minutes you are not doing your job. I wish I knew the name of that man but he never said his name and was not wearing a name tag. I will not be returning. The food could be great but service is everything in the food business. I’ll stick with Baja. Their service is always great.

This place use to have very good food. I recently went there since it had been a few years since I ate there because I’ve been out of state. I was very disappointed! The food was bland at best. I got the wet burrito and it didn’t even come with rice and beans on the side. Service was good and friendly. Atmosphere was the same as it always has been. I don’t know if it’s under new ownership/management or if they have a new chef or just skimping on the food prep and portions?!
