This South Indian restaurant is highly recommended for a quick and satisfying meal. The food is consistently delicious, and we’ve tried several dishes over the years, including Idli, Vada, Dosas, meals, Kothu Paratha, and Manchurian. You can’t go wrong with their menu.

The food here is excellent—especially during weekends when they offer buffet tiffin. Even l tired to have lunch and dinner . Yes, it’s affordable and yet very high quality with the good taste. Even though I have come out of India for work, A2B San Jose reminds me of the comforting, homely food I grew up with. The taste and quality are authentic, which isn’t surprising since they are originally from India. The staff are courteous and serve with genuine care and attention especially need to mention the special thanks to Easwari Ma’m and Charan sir . A2B has become one of my regular spots and remains one of the best South Indian vegetarian restaurants in the Bay Area.

Ordered a tiffin combo – idly vada sambar with filter coffee. Fast and friendly table service. Nice clean interior and authentic flavors.

We went back to try their dosas! Plain dosa and Rava onion dosa were great with 3 types of chutney. Pepper rasam is perfect starter.

The dosa and South Indian dishes are good.
Chole bhature was ok ok. The chana was not good enough and quantity was less.
The samosa chaat was good.
The drinks of rose milk and badam milk were good too.
The Pura Poli was very bad.. It was very hard and a test for our teeth! The filling jaggery was good but the outer maida cover was so hard and a test of our teeth!

On the whole, ok ok, not good enough.. Probably other places like idli Express, anjappar, mylapore, uluvacharu tiffins will be better.

Also bought some Togo packs of Mysore Pak, badusha, thattai, karasev and ribbon pakoda. They were all very poor quality. Definitely not the Bangalore A2B where I loved everything.

A lot more improvement needed! Only for idli and dosa, we’ve so many other good competitors here.

I have been to A2B lot of time, the food, service and atmosphere is top notch. I would recommend to stick to south Indian speciality if you are going to visit one of time. Because Indo-Chinese is hit and a miss. We have had really good Noodles and Manchurian and very bad as well. I think this one depends on who is the chef of the day or hour of the day you are visiting.

Must try is Mysore Bonda, curd rice, and Dosa. Chana bature is also good if you like less spicy and mild chole bature.

Visited A2B during their happy hours (5 PM to 7 PM) and had an excellent experience. They offer any dosa for just $8.99 during this time, which is a great deal considering the quality and taste. I tried the Mysore Masala Dosa, and it was absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The chutneys and sambar served alongside were authentic and complemented the dosa wonderfully.

The ambiance was clean and welcoming, and the service was quick and courteous. Highly recommend visiting during happy hours for a satisfying and affordable South Indian meal. Definitely a 5/5 experience!

The service is great. Very helpful staff. The menu is all via QR code but there is no cell service inside and Wifi doesn’t work for everyone there so it was a bit of a hassle.

They have external seating too but the place can be packed during lunch hours. The food was fine. Not great for sure. I like Madras Cafe in Sunnyvale. Their chutney and sambhar are far tastier.

The place doesn’t take cash for bills but the tip has to be in cash. Which was so interesting indeed.

Reducing my rating from 5 to 1 based on recent visit, everything was below average and overpriced. No ventilation, dirty plates, small portions, increased prices for less. Value for money is zero. Dosa dinner for 4 costs $100?!!

Good dosas and chole bhature. I’ve been here many times and I really like the basic tiffin items.

Wait time depends on the day, it’s more crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. About a 20 min wait. Otherwise, it’s pretty free.

I would recommend to not experiment as I’ve had a poor success rate. The curry leaf idly was very bad and the chilly paneer starter was also bad. Stick to the basics and you’ll be good.
