We’ve been going to Mama Sid’s now for several years and have yet to leave empty nor disappointed with our food or service. Amy and Sean are two of the nicest people we have met and they will do anything to make your visit an enjoyable and filling one. We don’t mind waiting a few extra minutes because every pizza and order is made to order with fresh ingredients and homemade dough. This is something you really don’t find anymore and is really a hidden gem. Keep up the excellent work and we will see you soon!.

I called five pizzerias with my unusual request to make a triangular pizza and was turned down until I called Mama Sid’s Pizza. While we were talking on the phone, we agreed that I would come by and show them how to do it on video. Twenty minutes later, I was there, and we were already baking a test version! Words cannot describe how happy I was, especially when I saw what a pleasant atmosphere they had there. Later, I ordered two more pizzas for my friends, and everyone loved them! I think I’ve found a place where I’ll always order pizza!

Been living full-time in Athens for ten years, but only just went to Mama Sid’s for the first time last year. It’s welcoming, chill, and straightforward. I like the pizza options, and have always had our requests fulfilled for certain ones to be placed on the buffet nice and hot. Get the dough nuggets!

This is the oldest pizza buffet in Athens. The atmosphere is a throwback. Even though some people would agree they need a few updates it is also what makes them special. They are always happy to make your whatever pizza you would like which makes it better so you don’t just eat the pizza they have. Staff always great and food always good and price is also great.

I recently stopped by Mama Sid’s Pizza in Athens and had a pretty decent experience — the kind of casual, laid-back pizza spot that feels like a local tradition more than a trendy hotspot. The place is modest and unpretentious, with a “come as you are” vibe that makes it easy to walk in alone, with friends, or after a long day.
What I appreciated most was how straightforward and reliable everything felt: the service was friendly and down-to-earth, and even when the dining room had a fair number of people, things didn’t feel chaotic. There was no fuss, just an easygoing rhythm — order, wait a bit, and enjoy.
Value stands out: for what you pay, it feels worth it. It’s the kind of spot you go to when you want something simple, satisfying, and affordable. Especially if you’re not trying to overthink your night — just good enough comfort and a relaxed environment.
If I’m being honest: it’s not a place I’d pick for a fancy dinner or a date night — this is more “grab some pizza and chill.” But for a casual meal, a quick bite, or just something easy-going with friends, Mama Sid’s hits the spot.
All in all — Mama Sid’s Pizza feels comfortable, unpretentious, and reliably decent. If I’m back in Athens and craving something simple and low-key, I’d go back without hesitation.

The customer service was good. When we arrived we informed the server Amy that we would like the buffet. The buffet had 2 old cold pizzas on it, and she informed us that we could eat it and order off the menu a pizza for the buffet, and they would then cook and add it. It took about 30 minutes for the pizza to be cooked, and added to the buffet. I’m not sure why they don’t have the buffet filled. I also wasn’t a fan of how you walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. The bathroom was tight, but clean.

Amazing pizza honestly. Really cheap pizza buffet at like $7. From (I think) 11am-2pm, dinner starts at 5 but no idea what time it ends. They’ll make you any pizza you ask for then putting it on the bar. The staff is super friendly too. I’m sad there’s not one in CA because it’s my new favorite pizza place!!!

Staple in the community and the only place I choose to get pizza. Love the owners and never feel judged for my dietary decisions and special requests. Long Live Mama Sids

It’s a business in decline. I spent over $150 for $10 teammates at the buffet. Virtually nothing on it when we got there virtually nothing got put. The buildings kind of beat up and a little bit falling down. If you’re cutting corners, well that’s fine. That’s about as good as it gets…

I just got a Philly cheese steak, and what a massive waste of $9.60!! These was hardly any meat on it, had wilted lettuce and tomato, and they burned the bread!! The sliminess of the lettuce and tomatoes made the bottom of the bread wet and gooey! JUST HORRIBLE!!!!!
