Houston’s is located Right on the intercostal. Plan on a 45 minute wait to be seated outside. The outside dining experience is worth the wait. We sat at the outside bar and enjoyed some cocktails while we waited for our table to be ready. The wife and I selected to split a ribeye and a salad. The ribeye was served with fries. For the salad we selected the Houstons vinaigrette which was great.

What an exceptional experience at Houston Pompano with my wife. As always, the food was absolutely outstanding beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere was equally impressive, creating a warm and sophisticated setting that made the entire experience truly memorable spinach deep always a most!

Unbelievable, I had to make 2 reservations for my husband and a 4 children. When I arrived I was told they don’t sit parties of more than 4 and that I could sit 2 of my kids at a different table. The online says no outside wear. Look at my pictures. Our waitress was great and so was the food. When I addressed being asked to sit 2 my children at a different table I was told by the manager, “parties of more than 4 are not welcomed”! I was completely taken a back. Had this been told to me before we would have left.

Went there just for drinks. Sat outside because they have a beautiful view of the intercostal.it was chilly but the deck was heated. The staff were very nice and attentive. The drinks were meticulously prepared. Can’t wait to go back for dinner next time.

I’ve been to Houston’s a few times in the past and its been over a year since my last meal there. We went on Sunday for lunch and had a very amazing experience. We were seated in a booth overlooking the outside and the view was glorious as it was a beautiful, sunny day.
We started with the artichokes and they didn’t disappoint. There were one and a half artichokes cut in half, grilled and seasoned. They came with a buttery, not melted, side of goodness that was very flavorful. We also had the Caesar salad and it arrived on a very cold plate and the salad was cold, too. The homemade croutons were delicious but there was a bit too much dressing on the lettuce, but overall it was very good.
My husband and son had the french dip sandwiches with fries and coleslaw and they enjoyed them very much. I had the kale salad with rotisserie chicken with a mild peanut sauce and it was very good as well.
The service was excellent, but the waitress forgot to bring our hot towels, but this didn’t mar from the overall experience.
Though the food is a bit pricey, you are really paying for the gorgeous location and excellent service. We’ll be back soon.

I’ve been to Houston’s a few times but this is the first time I wasn’t satisfied with my food selections. The cabbage with goat cheese I didn’t realize was sweet. The salad had a tiny piece of Salmon which was buried under the lettuce. I wasn’t crazy about the dressing that came on the salad. Otherwise the service and ambience is amazing as always.

In my opinion one of the best restaurants around . Quality. Consistency. On the water. I have eaten at this place so many times over the past 20 years that I should have my own chair at the bar.. Whether you are stopping for a delicious lunch, having an appetizing dinner with friends, family, or solo if you have not been here yet I don’t wanna know you

Update – 12/23 Amazing again…as usual! Houston’s consistently delivers an impeccable dining experience. The ambiance outside is casual and as South Florida as it gets. You can sit by the Intercoastal and watch the boats and yachts ply the waterway while dining. Because it was two days before Christmas, the restaurant was playing some smooth jazz Christmas tunes and the experience was phenomenal. Guinevere was my server and she was friendly, attentive and outstanding. Today I tried the Ruby Red Trout with a side of tabouleh instead of cole slaw. It was a delightfully bright fresh accompaniment and it paired so well with the oak fire grilled trout. The crispy rock shrimp were tender and succulent and the lemon butter sauce complimented the entire dish.

My lunch was so divine that I might just have to go back to Houston’s tomorrow for dinner. I love this restaurant for always providing fantastic service, ambiance, and cuisine.

I finished the lunch with a slice of their key lime pie and a cappuccino. It was worth every calorie. Every bit of this pie is made in house. The macadamia graham cracker crust is amazing! The filling is light and perfectly balanced.

Thank you, Houston’s for another great memorable meal!
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Houston’s in Pompano Beach. It’s good to know that it’s as excellent as I remembered!

We dined on the patio and had a great view of the Inter-coastal and I certainly enjoyed the beautiful weather. Certainly a reprieve from NC winter!

Our server let us know about a special on the menu – flash fried oysters and they were absolutely amazing. The breading on the oysters was similar in taste to a conch fritter – they were crunchy, the oysters were juicy and tender and there was a subtle heat that hit the palate. I could cut the oysters with a fork. They were served atop some flavorful remoulade on the half shell. Outstanding.

For a lunch entree, I had the crispy grouper sandwich and it was absolutely perfect. This was circa a 6oz.thick, juicy filet of grouper fried to perfection and absolutely crispy. It was served on a house made bun with a bed of crunchy, flavorful vinegar based coleslaw and some fantastic garlic dill pickle slices. Pair this with house made chef’s dressing aka tartar sauce and this was the most perfect fish sandwich imaginable. It’s $27 and is served a la carte, but we ordered a side of fries and one side was more than enough for two to split. Houston’s fries are the traditional steak house shoe string variety. They were very good especially with a ramekin of ketchup. They had other dipping sauces available, but it’s hard to beat good old fashioned ketchup. This sandwich was worth every penny and it was so hearty that I gave up trying to eat it like a sandwich and used a knife and fork. Delicious!

How do you end such a sublime meal? With an equally sublime desert. Houston’s has the absolute best key lime pie I’ve ever had and I was born and raised in Pompano Beach. I know my key lime pie! Their crust was a luxurious crumble of graham cracker and what seemed to be some sort of nut. The key lime filling itself was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. That’s the magic of key lime pie and where so many fail is that the pie is either too acidic or cloyingly sweet to counter the acidity of the lime. This pie was bright and with the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The dollop of whipped cream had just a hint of vanilla and sweetness to it and almost had a merengue like taste. It was all excellent. What goes better with pie than a cup of coffee! I had a cappuccino and it was also excellent.

I think one thing that sets Houston’s apart is the amount of menu items they make in house. The chefs take great pride in their food and whether you’re ordering a steak or a deceptively humble fish sandwich, everything here is elevated and prepared with finesse. It could not have been a more perfect meal – from the attentive, friendly professional staff to the expertly executed plates – Houston’s is still everything wonderful that I remembered.

Overall this was a very underwhelming experience. We came for our anniversary and had a reservation for 8pm. We were not seated until 8:15pm. The food had little to no flavor aside from the creamed corn. They mentioned a dress code on the website, but that is not enforced at all. We saw a lot of people in flip flops and t shirts. We thought it was going to be a nice evening out, but it was a waste of money in my opinion. Our server was great and the view was beautiful, but the food and menu was a let down. We will not be returning or recommending.

Whenever I come to pompano I always make plans to go to Houston’s at least once. The atmosphere is great, the service is exceptional, and the food has never disappointed. I always look at the menu, but find myself getting the ribs every time because they are so good. I like swapping out the sides for a bake potato. Sometimes I will just order the bake potato for take out, if I am just looking for something quick.
The fish is also good, the salmon is a staple for my wife, simply seasoned, and always cooked right.
The key lime pie for dessert is hard to pass up. The gram cracker crust is soft and savory, and provides a nice balance to the tartness of the filling. Even if you are full, it is worth it.
