The Apple House, how have we lived in northern Virginia for 30 years and never been here?!!! Wow! Just WOW! Their apple butter donuts, made fresh daily on site, are beyond amazing!!! Any orchard and farm market who sells apple cider donuts, pales in comparison to these. Simply scrumptious!
We ordered lunch too. Their BBQ is the best I’ve ever had. Legit tender, perfectly sauced, pulled pork on homemade buns, in huge portions. We will be back to The Apple House.
Interior decor is fun. The only drawback is there is limited indoor seating. Plenty outdoor but on a cool October midweek day, indoor was needed. We will be back. Soon!

Was headed back to the Washington, DC area from Madison over the weekend heard great things about this place. A lot of us got the breakfast everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I got the brisket sandwich. The brisket sandwich was good; however, I typically like my brisket more tender/lean. I truly enjoyed the collard greens.

I love this place! What’s funny is I didn’t like this place growing up. So going back after 15 years I guess there have been some updates and changes.
The bar is very nice ! I also appreciate all of the mindful merchandising for all the people who are going to skyline Drive to either hike or just drive! I was able to purchase some ciders along for the ride.
The donuts are just to die for that those have not changed . You don’t have a choice you need to buy these damn donuts and you need to buy enough to bring home. Microwave them for 10 seconds and just take a bite. It’s amazing.
The sandwich I had was the grilled cheese brisket! The brisket was super moist and super soft and the crust of the bread was crunchy. Throw some barbecue sauce of your choice. This sandwich was phenomenal.
The cowboy salad which didn’t look appetizing, ended up being one of my favorite things there! Highly recommend it!

We love their famous Apple House donuts. I love stopping by for coffee and doughnut after church on Sundays. Best donuts around. They also make great breakfast and lunches and have a fun gift shop.

We visited her June 21, 2025 for lunch. It was delicious food! Great Reuben and Kids BLTs. The Apple Cider Donuts were delicious. You can even watch them being made by a little machine behind the counter. They have the coolest shirts, socks, hot sauces, signs and many more amazing items. The restraunt is located in a quieter area. Definitely a must see or even worth a detour for the experience!
